I just don't unerstand the strategy,  schools are a high risk, Sage say it going to increase the R rate by bettwen 10% and 50% - so why not vaccinate the teachers and parents if you wan them open early? I don't get it - they could do the teachers in a weekend.

They can't do the parents in a weekend

And most parents of school age kids aren't likely to be hospitalised, I dont think

The end of the day, kids education is going to come before a pint or a meal.

Still think it is risky though, maybe just year 11 first then other years after Easter would be better?

 

If it’s a decision based on where and how virus spreads then it’s clear to me schools will spread the virus widely,  while restaurants & pubs are much safer, any bars flouting social distancing etc close them down and fine them. It’s a shambles.

My estimate is that cases, hospitalisations and deaths will continue to plummet.

and that the opening up will be too cautious, but I think that the populous wants caution.

The hospitalisations in under 50s isn't  much different than 50-69 - (it's a lot lower than the over 70s,) but the deaths are much lower - the hsopitals will be busy but much less deaths.

why don’t we keep kids off and allow those without kids to go about their daily lives as normal while you all sit in? Why should I be sat in so kids can to school?

The science doesn't back up the claim.about schools I'm afraid. Universities, yes, but not schools. Which is why the unions has lost a bit of sway with the public.

I can't believe this but I'm behind the government on this. Its not a shambles, you just don't like it.

I didn’t mention numbers of deaths, but Whitty should be listened to on deaths.
