It isn’t on the programme for everyone to be vaxxed

Why not wait till priority groups are done? They are priority for a reason

Then give it it to teachers

Then open schools

It's not happening - they know loads more people may die because they haven't been vaccinated in time, but it seems they would rather chance that than delay opening up a bit.

The modelling reports I'm looking at do not look good at all - which is probably why they're doing the 5 week review between each unlocking.

I just don't unerstand the strategy,  schools are a high risk, Sage say it going to increase the R rate by bettwen 10% and 50% - so why not vaccinate the teachers and parents if you wan them open early? I don't get it - they could do the teachers in a weekend.

They can't do the parents in a weekend

And most parents of school age kids aren't likely to be hospitalised, I dont think

I'd happily keep schools shut if I can go for a meal

Doesn't affect me one bit

But I still think they need to go back asap

I get what you mean but pubs and restaurants are not clinically managed environments. Some are very well run and socially distanced of course but many are a free for all.

The end of the day, kids education is going to come before a pint or a meal.

Still think it is risky though, maybe just year 11 first then other years after Easter would be better?

If it’s a decision based on where and how virus spreads then it’s clear to me schools will spread the virus widely,  while restaurants & pubs are much safer, any bars flouting social distancing etc close them down and fine them. It’s a shambles.

THE priority groups are done

Lower priority groups to come

My estimate is that cases, hospitalisations and deaths will continue to plummet.

and that the opening up will be too cautious, but I think that the populous wants caution.

Tbf to zico, the priority groups aren't done

All over 50s and those with issues

Thems priority

Boris “all the evidence says schools are safe” lying bastard.

The hospitalisations in under 50s isn't  much different than 50-69 - (it's a lot lower than the over 70s,) but the deaths are much lower - the hsopitals will be busy but much less deaths.

The flaw in the plan

Nothing should be relaxed till at least the first jab phase is complete

And then only relaxed for those who have had it - schools, hospitality, non essentials, the lot

Those that don't have it for whatever reason should have to wait till everyone else has had two

Aye nae bother 👍🏼

why don’t we keep kids off and allow those without kids to go about their daily lives as normal while you all sit in? Why should I be sat in so kids can to school?

see how it works both ways eh

The science doesn't back up the claim.about schools I'm afraid. Universities, yes, but not schools. Which is why the unions has lost a bit of sway with the public.

I can't believe this but I'm behind the government on this. Its not a shambles, you just don't like it.

I'll trust your numbers peely :)

but how many of those are in the 16 to 64 risk group?

It’s true, though

Exactly

It is, Mounts, have a listen to the scientists on more or less. It's not something that will lead to a.spike.

No

Get the priority groups sorted, then start to relax

As I said

Cases in the "lower" priority group have been going up this year

Sage estimate 30k more deaths or more

That's not what you said

Will do, happy to be proved completely wrong (it's a common occurrence) might do it tomorrow

I didn’t mention numbers of deaths, but Whitty should be listened to on deaths.

When Boris said “more deaths”, I’m not even sure he meant “more”, rather “further”

Deaths aren’t stopping

And, above all, time will tell

Fair enough, my 13 year old had it and had a half day of a headache and sore legs for one day.

I have worse hangovers

That reads like your kid had the vaccine. Assume you mean virus ??

To be fair

I think you’ve said for a long time that there’d be no more massive spikes and time said otherwise. You’ve always held the view that restrictions don’t make any difference. Sweden was a go to example for a fair while...

9 minutes ago, Zico said:

No you clearly said anyone who can’t have the vaccine should sit and wait around. So because I can’t have it I should put my life on hold while everyone else cracks on yes?
