According to the Telegraph weekly data from the ONS shows nearly 33% of people included in the overall death figures that covid was NOT an underlying issue.

Get those mask gone, open up and lets crack on, we've cracked this, Bojo said this was now driven by data not dates 🤔

The dates are the minimum time it takes to get the data gathered and analysed.

Only a few more weeks to go until freedom.

I'm not hearing anything positive from any politicians

That would have done

I'm not hearing anything positive from any politicians when they are asked about masks and back to normal life.

What do you expect them to say? They can't be seen to be gung-ho, as we're not quite there yet, but cautious positivity seems to be prevalent.

As things stand, everything returns to normal next month.

No doubt some people may still be a little hesitant, and some will continue to wear a mask in certain situations (I probably will in situations where I think it may be beneficial), but the gradual approach seems to be working and people should take confidence from that. Come late June, most will be ready.

I do think there will still be some public information reminders to us to wash hands and maybe consider masks in the autumn/winter, but I don't envisage a shit load of precautions.

Possibly localised controls should public health bods deem it necessary, but that's very much down to people to get the jab.

Sage pretty much said crack on last friday

For now we seem to have stopped following the science

And also, we are going to be fucking miles off 'no restrictions' by june 21st

In my opinion

I don’t believe that was what was said? I believe it was said there would be no more social distancing restrictions from 21st June? Everyone appears to have misinterpreted that?

Lowest test positivity rate since start of the pandemic (0.7%)

If 3000 sweaty teenagers are allowed in a Liverpool nightclub in April we'll be back at the football come August

I'd be surprised if we are back at the football come August, blame it on India or a shortage of tank tops!!

I think we’ll be in, at reduced capacity.

Said on the euro thread it’s apparently one person sat alone with 4 seats to next person at the euros this summer. If Boris is right that social distancing is removed then that Should then disappear by next season

When put in % terms it seems high.

If there was 8 deaths in Bolton last week and there are 12 deaths this week, its gone up 50%, seems high but still low, the lower the figures, once they rise, the higher the % rate.

Indeed; more sensitive/volatile.

nearly every vulnerable fucker is jabbed, so, hopefully, just young folks getting mild symptoms.

Just a little bit of positivity, like how low the infection rate is, and hospitalisations are so low that it shouldn'tbe long before we can stop wearing mask. I see nothing and when asked they still go on about other variants, you know other variants that aren't even here yet, its like they want one to happen, you can't live waiting for it to happen. Unfortunately we are still being told how we are to behave.

The data says we should be coming out of this a lot sooner.. imo.

I see it that that data shows the current plan is working so after the shambles of last year let's not be complacent

As for masks, that should be June 21st

They really don't want another variant to happen, they just want you to remember it could, so don't deviate from the plan, which is working

I saw a muzzie wearing a mask over a burka. Top lass

I saw an old guy driving his porsche, top down, on his own wearing a mask.

It rained shortly after so he probably got what he deserved

We seem to have quite the stockpile of vaccines now so I would expect first doses to rocket again soon

I've not heard one MP confirming that, and that is worrying.

Why? I don’t believe masks are going anywhere tbh. Here to stay for the foreseeable on public transport etc and I think the big supermarkets will continue to operate on that basis as well out of choice

Just now, Mr Grey said:

Fuck them off, if anyone says they like wearing them things, they are bullshitting.

I’m certainly not saying that. But I don’t know why anyone believes they will be done away with next month? I think they will be the very last restriction to go. And if that’s the case as much as I don’t like wearing them for long periods of time I can live with it if I get everything else back personally

Well at the moment everywhere but Bolton will be reopening

2 minutes ago, Mr Grey said:

Just make them optional, give people the choice.

Someone else said earlier, lickdown doesn't exsist anymore, traffic levels are back to normal, pubs have been open over 3 weeks and there hasn't been a surge in infections... a bit like last time.

I’m not disputing any of that I just personally think a mask is a small price to pay if it means I can go and live my life again   But everyone is different I accept that

Mandatory wearing of masks currently ends on 21 June. It's in the official plan.

Who knows, there may be subsequent subtle requirements, but that won't be without reason, but as things stand they're done with.

Don't understand this negativity about positivity.

Even if they did ask folk to wear a mask on a train or bus, that's not the end of the world.

Probably because it's not even the next step in the plan and is six weeks away

Thank you I hadn’t seen that about the masks. probably because I pay little attention to the plan down there other than pubs opening.  Mainly because wee jimmy ain’t following that plan.

I'm just itching to be fully let off the leash, I'm an impatient bastard 🤨

You should have booked a break away from the end of June like me then.

If the rayguns cause a delay in Bolton's opening up, it won't affect me! :)

Got campsites booked for fun July and August 🌞

That's when the rates go back up after we're all let out again... :)

Anyway, where are you off to?

2 minutes ago, Mr Grey said:

Lakes, Northumberland and a provisional Pembrokeshire booking if they open, which hopefully looks likely

As accommodation needs to be self contained, find a small site in Pembrokeshire and book the whole place!!

Whereabouts in Northumberland?

I'm not sure anybody says they like wearing them, but only attention seekers say they "hate" wearing them. Let's be honest, they're really not that much of an issue are they.
