Who’s bitching & moaning?  just pointing out the deteriorating situation in Bolton, I don’t live in Bolton and why would I want to join a task force (paid for by Bolton residents no doubt)  to persuade folk who up until now have steadfastly refused to have the vaccination that might save them and their families life.   If they want to get dead, it’s their choice.

Interesting stats here, Indian population in Bolton rose to 7.8% in 2011 from 6% in 2001

Pakistani population wasn't far off doubling from 2.5% in 2001 to 4.3% in 2011

Fair enough - I did see that Bolton was mentioned in the Mirror today regarding where this indian varient is spreading with SAGE meeting, but that it is going to be a nationwide issue.

Do people think there would be a local lockdown? Folk will go crazy.

Apparently some have been dodging the rules by flying to a third country first and not isolating upon return.

Until folk behave respectfully, then perhaps ban all travel. Only allowing those involved in the transport of goods.

Interestingly, a stark warning over those on the green list this morning. It doesn't mean folk can travel there, that depends upon that nations government, and one travel agent lady was saying at the moment you can only go to madeira, and not the whole of Portugal for example.

Some companies have now stopped all holidays until August.

It’s not holiday resorts or tourists to those resorts that’s the problem, as casino said it’s the flights to and from Pakistan & India that the government failed to shut down that’s causing this problem, they just flouted the no flights rule and continued to travel to India & Pakistan, didn’t quarantine on return and a big percentage don’t give a fuck about social distancing, masks or vaccinations.

When the PanAm flight exploded over Lockerbie the investigation showed who got on and off and where.
 

It isn’t beyond the available technology to identify folk who decide to fly from India or Pakistan to a green-zone country before then flying into the UK.

I know, should have shut travel down much earlier without doubt.

It's clear that too many folk can't be trusted to self isolate as required, and it was naive to believe these characters would.

I've heard this morning that part of the issue may be folk who perhaps shouldn't be here. However, I would imagine that the bulk of the problem is those who are British but with family abroad.

As it happens, from what I understand, such folk can still be vaccinated without concern for their status. 

That said, anyone hoping to stay here but refusing the jab should be rapidly kicked out or thrown into the volcano.
