No lesson attempted

I wouldn’t argue at every member of nhs staff earning below a certain level being given a pay rise and would happily have my income tax increased marginally to cover it

Fair play Escobarp I was probably a bit harsh there despite the smiley.

What's the level? What's "Frontline"/ "Non Frontline" and who defines the difference? Cos that's always 'a thing.' My Mrs was non frontline last week and pretty much frontline this. I'm not frontline by any means but I'm working like a dog this last month on planning, I dont want or expect any more cash, it's what I signed up for.

I don’t think anyone in the nhs does it for the money tbh. It’s a remarkable Organisation as is everyone that works in it.

who should be paid what fuck knows. But they All deserve every Last penny that’s for sure and more on top. We can never repay what the nhs is doing for us 👍🏼

No

Theres loads of capacity

I’m telling you from what I’m seeing daily there is a lack of vehicles

so if you can fix it I would be offering your services to some of the biggest logistics companies in the UK cos they are at full capacity and are screaming for vehicles.

just because there are x number of vehicles in circulation doesn’t mean there is capacity  to move stuff around immediately. It’s not as simple as that and you know it

as an aside My employer have just released 300 units foc to the nhs to assist them. But that’s the tip of the iceberg I think

And the pallet network i use

36 pallets they received in last thursday

36

And they have 20 vehicles, each with 14 pallet spaces

Nhs procurement is one of the biggest hurdles I imagine and the red tape. Pretty sure there are folk on here who could shed some light on that. But that won’t be helping I’m sure

Fair play pal.

£349 for a basic microbiology test for active virus is a weapons grade cunts trick whichever way you cut it. On average I had microbiology at about £30 a pop  though that was a few years ago.

The antibody test is/will be a blood test and should be even less.

Post above, it was capacity??

Now, its possible its got worse in a week, but i doubt it

Like i say, a regular on here is furloughed and his van not moving

If its procuremsnt, who is in charge of the rules

Its all in the power of the government to sort

Ffs, theyve written off 14 billion today, so issuing free PPE shouldnt be an issue

Stop being a smart arse.

Capacity is an issue. but likewise solving that capacity issue will require them to go out with their normal supply chain. That’s going to be tough

but you’ve got all the answers so it’s simple just parachute yourself in job done

Yep they should be cheap and given away for little profit. Depends where they are coming from I guess as well

Know where you’re coming from but it’s when it gets to its destination. Even without CV it’s a nightmare. With CV it’s even worse within a hospital or a community store. It’s the very final end of the supply chain that’s the problem not the delivery. That’s not a problem

This isn’t chucking stuff off the back of a lorry in a war-torn country and ticking the box that it’s been “delivered”. This is making sure that it actually gets to the right people in the right way

The bottleneck is right at the end of the chain

Public private partnership with DHL.

Wonder if DHL have the same issues in Germany?

It’s also at the front end. Bow to your superior knowledge as you deal with them but why then have the nhs begged my employer for a 1,000 mixed vehicles if the delivery isn’t an issue?

Tells me it most certainly is a huge issue.

One of the last things i did before i finished was to deliver to a london hospital

Just a single palket

Left nw england, thursday 3.30

Signed for, friday 945

And no, im not a logistics expert, which makes it all the more strange that they cant sort it out

Agree it would seem simple. Agree we can send a parcel across the country overnight. But this on this scale obviously isn’t easy. Throw in the issues as highlighted by MW and what I’m seeing also and this isn’t straightforward sadly.

Dunno mate

I do know the furloughed driver works for a similar sized entity, so its not some cowboy outfit

If you wanted somebody theyd be in the first three you would think of and theyre furloughing drivers

Fair enough

But

And im having a but

There is plenty unused capacity

I know that for a fact

And you know the nhs doesnt think there is capacity

Speaks volumes to me

And with a wife who is trying to get PPE for her staff saying the support they are getting is pathetic, i tend to agree

Now, this is something i dont know

But generally, when i deliver on a pallet network to hospitals, stuff gets to where it needs to

And the stuffs quite high value, though not clinical
