I ordered something on the 23rd March before the current restrictions were put in place and I was advised that due to a) demand and b) logistics problems it could take up to 21 days to deliver it. It took them 5 days to confirm what I wanted was in stock and had been allocated to me!

Yep it’s causing chaos. But for me the positive is they are evidently enforcing the social distancing guidance etc so I can wait a few days longer for what I’ve ordered. Not ideal but if we all need to accept things just ain’t what they were at the moment!!

Yeah, there's very little out this way to be honest.

Plus, without sounding too choosey, I really want to pick up some work on a self-employed basis. I don't trust this govt/HMRC not to fuck the SE grants up for SE who've gone PAYE.

People like AMAZON, YODEL and others are taking on self employed drivers who only need to have a car - sure on the YODEL site they do the jobs by postcode+distance so it's easy to see if there's owt in your area.

It’s not just the drivers, you need people at the other end to unload, problems with staff shortages and RDC’s trying to cope with double the normal volumes, the network just doesn’t have the capacity to deal with such a spike 

Not sure what it’s like in medical goods but can only imagine they are having similar issues 

*although I do have my doubts that they have enough on the first place don’t get me wrong

Well, on the social media video front, use Houseparty all you want. The online rumours we just an odd smear campaign, it's perfectly fine to use and much better than Zoom as a platform for social calls. Zoom are having issues with security and the increase in users which they are currently trying to work on.

They said yesterday that the tests were accurate when taken about 28 days having recovered from it. And before and after that less accurate. Not sure this is the magic bullet. But it will be really helpful in getting the NHS staff into work in a more managed way.

I know a fair few who have been hacked this last week, one girl has had to set up a new Facebook page as they have stolen her old one 

It feels like the common denominator is the house party app

Yeah but doesn't seem like its as simple as that. You need to take it around 28 days after recovery. Otherwise it could present false negatives or false positives. The trouble with such tests is accuracy. You don't want loads thinking they're fine and getting infected or the other way round. I suspect it will need careful management. The other issue is simply that nobody yet knows how long immunity lasts for - if its 3 months like other coronaviruses that means the value of testing for the antibody is lower - given you've potentially lost over a month already by test. I'd have thought by now there'd be some studies on likely length of immunity.

You can’t get a false +VE can you? 

If you test +VE then it’s highly likely you’ve had it surely

A certain percentage of the population have already decided BoJo must hang for this yet if the corona hadn't really hit us he'd have been hung for wasting millions of ventilators and tests etc.

There's a time and place to evaluate how this has been handled and for me, now is not the time

Well they are confident enough to offer a $1 million reward for proof of sabotage. Zoom however are getting it right in the neck - even the FBI are saying their privacy setting aren't enough and Zoom bombing has become a thing as well. CEO offered an apology yesterday and are working to fix it.

On the issue of deliveries, did anyone see the piece in the MEN the other day?  Courier complaining that her deliveries kept piling up because people were ordering too much non essential stuff.  I mean how dare anyone give her some feckin work to do!!

I think the issue is it may detect other similar antibodies to the covid-19 one and return a positive result - when in fact someone hasn't had the virus itself.

Some early testing of these kits is not all that encouraging. The problem is if you make it sensitive enough to detect all cases at a certain point it is likely to return false positives. If you reduce the sensitivity its likely to return false negatives.

Hancock said last night that none of the mass produced ones they've tested so far have proven to be accurate. So the only anti-body tests we have currently are the 3.5k a week they're doing at PHE.

Fuck knows why the woman from PHE said last week we'd be buying them on Amazon by now. Seems a way off.
