July 19, 20206 yr Mills and Beckford were 2 of the biggest disappointments in the last 30 years in terms of expectation compared to ability. I had high hopes for both and cant hugely blame Coyle for signing Mills or DF for signing Beckford, I would probably have done the same. Keith Andrews in the same era was similar, came from WBA, looked to be a shrewd signing, another huge let down that didnt appear to be break sweat once. When you add the likes of Sordell hanging around post-Prem, what a sad era that was of watching players that you couldnt identify with.

He had already (wrongly) promoted Bogdan over Jussi in our last PL season, and then couldn’t decide who to stick in goal once he signed. This is a man who picked Brian Jensen as the best ever GK he’s managed so I shouldn’t be surprised.
