This is the crux of the matter, whatever the Russians been up to I’m convinced it’s a waste of time and effort, Corbyn being shit meant Boris was always going to win, now if Boris is shit then next el

The Russians have been doing it for ages. Saw something about all the Facebook groups they set up. There was one where a Texas Independence group they set up organised an event across the road from an event organised by a BLM group they’d set up, at the same time on the same day.

Result? Chaos, exactly as they hoped.

Wouldn’t surprise me one bit if they tried similar shit with leave and remain groups.

It wouldn’t be high in my priorities. Not sure why you think it should given it’s been found to be a waste of time and not changed anything.

How do they know what was or wasn't achieved if they weren't monitoring it?

That's like saying you know the score of a football match you didn't watch.

How did they find it was a waste of time given they haven’t even looked?

Putin reported to have given the former Russia ambassador to uk an order of merit on his return and said we have smashed them to their knees... hes right, I worry how much of a part they played in this, anyone going on Facebook can see how easy it is to whip up people against each other.. we're a massively divided country being led into the abyss (sorry taking back control) led by a bloke who's selfishness is only surpassed by his laziness.. if russia did play a part they are very good at it.

I reckon Putin is posing as Bolty on the BEN website.

You’ve been in team Boris too long. Attention to detail is non-existant🙄

fuck all to do with team boris.

What did you want to happen or what did you want them to find?, ...that our election and referendum processes had been meddled in, so the results could be deemed void and overturned, therefore NO Brexit and NO Tory Govt ?

Exactly that. Some folk will clutch at absolutely anything to reverse what they don’t like.

What are we looking for and how is it going to be quantified?

How do you monitor something that’s unquantifiable? I’m still all ears.

How do you decide theres nothing to look for if you dont look for it.. I'm all ears?

Its all a bit trumpesque

If we stopped testing, nobody would have the china virus

The Brexit angle on all this is irrelevant - clutching at straws barely covers it.

The issue, not sure if I'm saying this right, is that the UK government have admitted they haven't been monitoring Russia on this. And have now announced they will be keeping an eye on things.

Plucking a suitable analogy entirely at random, imagine someone closing a door after the horse is already in the next postcode. Or locking down after a virus has already got a firm grip of the population. You know.

Some ill people about.

Very true. I hope they're self isolating.

Just goes to show dont believe social media. Far too easy to manipulate and for the likes of China and Russia to cause havoc.

Folk saying well Russian attempts to influence Scotland vote didnt work are missing the point. Their aim is to discredit democracy and weaken the west. If they can get enough folk thinking all govts are corrupt its job done.

After they were caught bang to rights in Salisbury (and Holland) were do people think all the conspiracy theories about Britain trying to blame Russia, Russian innocence, Western collusion all came from? Russia planting false stories on social media and folk (especially young and twitter knobs)spread it. all muddies the water and leads to doubts when it should be clear- this is how Putin wages war against the West.

Look at all this Qanon and conspiracy nonsense in America the Russians have got Americans too busy fighting each other and Trump is revelling in it and its all helping Russia & China.  weaken NATO weaken Europe isolate and weaken US. No unified opposition so invade Crimea destabilise Ukraine get away with murder in Syria etc. Meanwhile weve got Trump & Boris .

As I stated earlier monitor it, but it’s not a priority, now then how do we quantify it? I’m all ears.

I've rattled on about Putin for ages. He'd love to just launch bombs but that isn't an option

He wants to expand his western borders, partly for financial reasons but mainly to satisfy his desire to be remembered as Russia's greatest leader. He's obsessed with that.

A solid, well organised EU won't let him do it (though he pretty much walked into Crimea with barely a whimper of objection). A chaotic, disorganised EU chewing itself up over things like Brexit means the eastern states become less safe.

He's playing a long game, but he wants his naval presence in Europe expanding. And one way or another, he'll keep trying.

But sure, Boris has funny hair.

Forget it I've made the mistake of being drawn into this bollocks. People are so tribal they refuse to see things that are right in front of them, any debate is pointless

So if some don't adapt to your way of thinking or agree with your opinion, its called tribalism and they must be wrong or thick as some on here might say 😏

You might need to type that in a bigger font so the message gets through

Except it's not entirely true.

Typing it bigger won't make it such.

Agree with all of this. Currently got a very clever, very ruthless leader playing long term geopolitical chess using all sorts of guerilla tactics against the people and leaders of tired, distracted and/or disinterested powers.

Nothing to see here there were no large donations made  to the Conservative party by Russian oligarchs before the election .
