Some good stuff in there snowball: there is a fundamental question over social media though, and that is one of "freedom of speech and press". The numerous bogus accounts which are used to spread disinformation must be the responsibility of Twitter and Facebook to identify and remove. If government was to do this (not sure they actually can) then immediately there is the potential for accusation of censorship. A really difficult situation, but if people are only willing the look on these platforms for information then that's their problem ultimately. Only other thing would be to close down the platforms for a period before and after each vote, though that won't go down well. Quote
