It's that match v Darlington (5/11/86?). What it would have looked like if everyone who claims to have been there, really was.

Now Jim, when I mentioned "rattle" you immediately thought of "rattler" a colloquial name for a train, and suggested Crewe Alexandra, a place inextricably linked to trains. Well it was a good idea but

Was that the one they scored from a corner kick?

Don’t remember that, but do remember after we scored, a bloke tapped me on the shoulder and asked if these were my car keys !!

i had dropped them in the celebrations.
i had driven to burden to get the coach - lucky escape !

I don't recall it raining either. I remember being in a pub across from the ground and all the Sunderland fans could sing was anti Newcastle songs. I remember listening to Man U Vs Blackburn on R5 on the drive home. Odd how you remember shit like that.

We did, we lost 2-1, they won promotion that day (Easter Monday) and we effectively lost promotion.

Full house, it was a bit scary, loads of Wanderers fans there, but no segregation. We went on a Ribble bus.

Big Sam scored to make it 2-1, Sunderland fans were baying for blood at that point

Easy walk back to the coaches as everyone stayed inside the ground to celebrate

I remember it being a really nice sunny day by the coast

Deffo NOT Southampton.

Used yo drink in a boozer just round the corner . And not that corner.

I remember the guy in the away end with the Newcastle beanie hat on that soon got clocked by the Sunderland fans to the right
