SPOTY.

I still would but I'm convinced Gabby Logan has a cock.

I couldn't take my eyes off her Adam's apple - bigger than mine, bigger than Tyson Fury's.

And Lewis Hamilton seemed to be channeling Jacko denying he was a nonce during his acceptance speech.

I half expected him to break out into 'Earth Song'.

Good driver but how he pulled Nicole Scherzinger. She is 100% travelling on the other bus.

Must've been a beard/merkin scenario.

Rashford should've won imo.

IF aj and fury had fought this year and AJ became undisputed world champion who, in your opinion, would probably be about 1/100000 at the bookies to win it? Tom Daly or AJ?

and josh Taylor isn’t even up for the award. Go figure

It’s bonkers. Lots of boxers over the years have missed out on the recognition they deserve.

Got to be Fury surely?

He's probably the most beloved sportsperson in the country by some distance apart from Aaron Wilbraham!

It's not difficult, is it?

Sterling is a model professional and his exploits in the euros and last season at City were top drawer. Doesn't seem to be firing the same since.

Not sure it's SPOTY worthy.

I'd go Peaty as he is swimmings answer to Kenny ont bikes. Just an animal. He did an interview saying he wanted a massively legendary swim, think he called it something but can't remember what, it wasn't game changer or world record...

Personality wise it's fury but he's said he doesn't want it.

And Lewis can get fucked too... He gets paid top whack for driving fast cars all day and has been spuds deep in to Scherzinger... And I've not. So he's a cunt.

By your own admission he’s been a lot better, he’s won the same trophies, won 2 individual awards but Sterling gets it because he played better in a tournament they didn’t win. Bonkers

The whole show is a shadow of its former self

It was a cant miss in the 70s/80s

All the highlights of the sporting year and one or two gongs

Shit now

Not really.
He scored 3 goals

Foden didn’t

Sterling played every game

Foden didn’t

Sterling contributed more to England getting to the final

on a serious note I’d say it’s a toss up between Peaty and Radacanu. Swimmers are a different breed, serious serious weirdos. Google Peatys diet then look at his physique, it defies logic. It shouldn’t work but it does. The training and dedication  they put into training is on a par with cyclists. Freaks.
As much as I love Fury, one fight a year boxers just don’t do it for me, I know the training is different for HW’s but if Canelo Alvarez was called Craig Atkinson from Barnsley he would have walked this. 3 fights 3 wins this year so hopefully he wins the international award.
Sterling I think has another level that he doesn’t quite hit, Foden was better than him last season and again this season consistently.

But yeah Radacanu or Peaty for me

My brother used to play water polo, and was a very decent swimmer in his day. He played at a pretty high level, and although not a professional in any way, from him, I got an understanding of the physical demands that pool sports require.

Can well understand the dietary requirements.

Me and my dad once jumped in the pool for a bit of a go at shooting prior to the start of a game.

Kinell, picking the ball up is awkward enough, but just wazzing the bloody thing was really tough. As you raise your arm there is a tendency to sink lower in the water, making it more difficult.

I said that. “Sterling gets in because he played better in a tournament they didn’t win” he more than deserves to be in the team awards as he has been part of a couple of good teams.

Do you Honestly think the likes of Tom Daley and Sterling deserve to be in more that Josh Taylor and Jason Kenny?

If you’ve not tuned into the channel he’s fighting on then probs not

Undisputed champion of the world. Speaks for itself really. Travesty he’s not on it. Draw your own conclusions why

No.

But I never said they did. Nor did I say I think either of them should win it. It’s a pick of 6

England got to a major tournament final for the first time in 50 years.
so an Enland player was going in there

Was there a better player who also won domestically? No.

So Sterling gets the nod

I don’t really know what the big debate about it is.

Rudy,

Thread needs tits urgently.

You've one job, pull your finger out, lad.

And back to my first post on the subject. Why Sterling? There’s more sports people deserving an award. If a team does well then they will be rewarded. Let’s not forget England lost, City won trophies with better players like Foden as you mentioned,  or are we continually going to show recognition to players on the losing side?

So no individual should win an award if they play for a team?

If that’s the case I disagree. For club and country he was the best British footballer this year.
It’s not rewarding failure he won two trophies had a good season for his club and country which was decided on a penalty shootout.

As before, if they’re on Messi and Ronaldo level and doing the unbelievable year on year out then yes. Or if they’re like Giggs and won virtually everything domestically over a long period then yes. You know he’s not been the best for his club this year and you have said so, it’s virtually come down to him having a good tournament which they lost. I don’t think you can have a sports personality of the year based on that.

As for Tom Daly,  why wasn’t his dive partner nominated I wonder 🤷🏻

It’s the SPOTY like the most improved award. Hardly the B’alon Dor or beating the cube

Because he's not gay! Honestly, RW is it not obvious? You have to have a gay one.

Anyway you big beefer, are you at the match tomorrow night? I’ve just been given 10 freebies. I’ll be there about 7pm if you’re about

Also when giggs won it it was a sham.

Back end of his career. Hasn't he done well. Over 20 years he's won everything at the team who had the most money.

Give him the award.

He celebrated by bumming his brothers Mrs.

Anyone defending him getting it gets a pinky label before getting into the volcano

Raducanu should win as all the others were expected to win things in their sport

She did something no one else had done before in tennis, and the first British woman to win owt in a long old time
