Imagine if he did this to the UK

If you look at the globe you can understand his ambition of acquiring Canada and Greenland as these are on the shortest route to enemy Russia and associated countries.

If he installs a puppet such as Farage he will also have a vassal state like Belarus is to Putin's Russia

True.

I notice our most fervent “patriots” think he’s almost God-like at this point and would get on all fours and gape their arseholes so he can fill them up with his jizz.

Wait til he crashes the stock market…

Has he sorted ukraine out yet? He said day one, then maybe a few weeks.

or is he pushing this one back to 2029 now 🙃

The president of America is actually suggesting they take control of another sovereign state.

I don’t think this is ok, but I’m sure Bolty and co. will be along soon to justify why sovereignty is only important when it suits. 😊

Last time round he placed tariffs on China he ended up having to bail his farmers out. Cost him almost as much as the tariffs raised. He’s thick as fuck

For those who don't quite get it...

Why else are his cronies attacking Starmer? He is a left wing Europhile whereas they want a right wing anti European PM in this country.

The world is breaking into major blocs... US, Indo-Russia, China... where does Europe and the UK belong? Europe historically has always been a battlefield and might continue to be so.

Has anyone read his book "Art of the Deal" or something?

Asking because I am thinking of picking up a copy (from the library or second hand as I don't want him to get anymore royalties)

I can visualise a Trump-Putin summit

This time he could fully crash the US economy, what he's doing is utter madness

How he sees a trade deficit as a subsidy is moronic as fuck

Everybody knows that tariffs are inflationary. I predict they'll be in recession within 18 months, unless he rows back

And these are trade deals he signed last time he was in. Stupid fucker

No doubt he’s upsetting all the right people and thus any financial consequences are a trifling inconvenience

Won't even bother watching. You could probably post a hundred or more discrediting the man. All gets rather 'meh'.

If you are sat in Beijing, Moscow, Pyongyang or Bridlington at the moment, you know who's boss.

And yet you think the country is a fucking shithole, and you've lived as far away as possible for several decades.

Your choice. Just do you realise though, I’m not the one discrediting him.  He does it himself when he opens his mouth.

So, we wake to the pound shop bully threatening tariffs on the EU and perhaps the UK.  Despite Trump today saying Starmer has been “very nice” I really hope Starmer ditches any sycophantic urges, sticks two fingers up and joins the global outcry in condemning Trump’s erratic behaviours.  The sane world needs to stand in solidarity.  The post WW2 words of the German pastor Martin Niemoller have never rung more true:

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

It’s amazing. Not just BK but Taco bells, Green Bean coffee, subway, Pizza Hut to name just a few.

My mate was logistics manager at a US army base in Afghanistan.

Said their bases were like a retail park :D

Shipping over containers of salmon worth $2m a pop.

So Trump is complaining about the trade deficit that the US with Mexico & Canada, fair enough......but in 2020, he signed into law the US/Mexico & Canada trade agreement (USMCA)  -  so the terrible deal is one that he signed off on, which he doesn't seem to be mentioning very often.

I suspect we're in for a turbulent few weeks/months as he single handedly tries to trash the US economy, which sadly will have an effect on us. I suspect his recent actions mean that interest rates won't be coming down anytime soon

I know it's been mentioned further back in the thread, but it does look like the world (as far as trade goes) is starting to fracture into different blocs - We'll eventually have to choose a side, US, EU or BRICS

He's following one of my favourite management methods... throw the biggest concrete slab you can find into the pond, make certain all the smug bastards and their cosy arrangements get well splashed, stand back watch them run around like little mice and then back off and start talking... divide and conquer!

What kind of job would require you throw a concrete slab in to a pond?

Sounds fun.

They have unbelievable facilities, gyms better than any David Lloyd over here, but they needed to have a good welfare package. Many of their tours were 12-18 month long, I suppose they had to give them something to take their mind off home!
