Hes given up the power to lead, he will be speaker in name only, he will have no power in what legislation is brought up to vote , no say in what amendments get added or voted on, so you can see with a slim voting block the house is going to bring shit to the floor (and as you can see the cant decide themselves for a speaker) plus any shit they do vote through will get tossed in the Senate before it even makes it to the White house, it will be 2 years of fucking about

Why and how? Surely the Speaker is the Speaker? How will those powers be taken away from him once he's elected?

No the speaker is the leader, its normally his/her job to decide what legislation gets done and how it gets done and more importantly will they have enough votes to pass it , by throwing it open to the masses they all have a say and not in a good way (it will be like herding greased pigs) as has been shown in voting for a speaker.

Also, he decides what committee assignments go to whom (but Hes been giving these away to buy votes)  so they will be chasing Hunters laptop and other shit which the American people don't give a shit about, Biden has already thrown it out to them for them to sort out immigration reform, he got it in first, but they are not interested in governing they just what to stir shit
