Your admitted ignorance of the bigger picture here is pretty obvious here. There are extremists in Israel who want Palestine wiped off the map and are being allowed to attack and bulldoze homes right, left and centre. Some of those extremists hold positions in government.

Because of my lack of knowledge I’m asking. A football forum is probably the wrong place because the most active and vocal poster on here (you) has just tried to make a comparison between Hamas and a couple of nut jobs over here.

Thats correct and I stand by that. I won’t come on here saying how country’s should Be approaching this war. With My tiny little knowledge and experience of working in hostile environments, I know how difficult it can be. Obviously if I was a trained teacher then I could debate more and tell countries leaders and armed forces what they’d doing wrong .

Destruction of Hamas' ability to wage war is clearly a priority, and their experts will decide on that through damage assessment and intelligence. 

In general terms, all a bit common sense- defeat the enemy and stop them from doing what they were.

Palestinians see their homeland as having been taken over by an occupying force.  Israel 'destroying Hamas', whilst simultaneously slaughtering civilians, isn't going to end resistance.  See also Vietnam, Congo, Kenya, Northern Ireland etc etc

What he misses is that 'they' are not making it worse in the immediate future. They are eliminating the utter scumbags who carried out the atrocities on 7th October. It will take a good decade or two for the same sort of cancer to grow to a point where it could do it again.

In the meantime, it seems likely that a negotiated settlement might be forthcoming. Then it would be a case of seeing if the primitive savages could maintain the peace. I would have my doubts.

He mentions "Palestine wiped off the map". An interesting twist when it is the Palestinian side who wants to wipe both Israel and Jews off the map. 'From the river to the sea'.

There are extremists on both sides who want to wipe the other side off the map, was my point.
