Tour de France 2022

Started today. My favourite annual sporting event, love it.

The Grand Départ is in Copenhagen, now live on ITV4 & Eurosport 1. 2 more stages in Denmark, then off to Dunkirk on Tuesday.

Currently pissing it down in Copenhagen.

Can't see beyond another Tadej Pogačar victory in the General Classification (GC), with Primož Roglič runner up unless he falls off his bike, which he's prone to when the pressure mounts.

Would love to see Geraint Thomas round out the podium.

Are we still pretending this nonsense is a sport?

4km to go - Pogacar in trouble.

Splendid that

Makes it interesting.

Alpe d'Huez tomorrow 🚴‍♂️👍

Brilliant ride by Pidcock today.

He is Olympic mountain bike champion and world cyclo-cross champion, but today's performance makes him a real name in cycling.

He took the advice to pedal harder, and reached 65 mph (106 kph) downhill.

Froome managed third on today's classic stage and GT regained third spot overall.

Great stage win for Pidcock! That downhill ride was feckin awesome.

So pleased for Froome. He's been through so much, and to come back from that accident is... well, it's just amazing.

Geraint up on the podium. Was interviewed straight after the finish, wasn't even out of breath. Maybe more to come from him?

65mph on a push iron is fckin mental

Great watch that, Pidcock could be something special, and he hasn't even shown how good a sprinter he is.

Geraint had a good stage as well

You're right, he's something special, but he can sprint, see his victory in Brabantse Pijl last year. Was also a close 2nd to Wout van Aert in the Amstel Gold Race about same time.

I think the fact that he doesn't even do road racing as his main purpose shows what talent he has.

I know the lad who is the main photographer/socials guy for the EFE team.

He’s hating it. Normally does mountain bike stuff and says the TDF is so businesslike it’s actually just tedious.

I think he’s being a cock. Imagine being paid to go round France/Italy/Spain just taking photos.

Be better than driving britains motorways that’s for sure

Orla  Chennaoui is  fuckin ace  on Eurosport forget she’s talking about cycling most of the time 😐

Her socks and her knees are a mess

Has she had major surgery?

Cant stand her voice, either

She's a superb presenter. Very knowledgeable on cycling, and so passionate about this great sport.

She's definitely maturing like a fine wine....

Knees are probably a mess due to being a former triple jumper....

I saw a bloke do 125 once.

His chain snapped on a level crossing.

Great day here today watching the tour but it was boiling, fair play to these guys we stayed in the valley because of the heat how they are managing to put that effort in at 35 degrees.

I’ve enjoyed this years Tour.

Some cracking stages - just caught up on yesterdays. With the yellow jersey winner done and dusted - there were still so many angles at play in that penultimate stage.

Fair play to the Yates twins, they’ve had a fantastic 3 weeks.
