January 9, 20233 yr Aye travelling into Bolton , Blackburn Road was a traffic jam from Astley Bridge/The Pineapple to almost as far as Dunscar War Memorial this morning.
January 9, 20233 yr Horwich is exciting at the minute. But it’s gotta be done. If we never let them happen we’d still have dirt tracks.
January 9, 20233 yr Always good fun getting out of BC of a morning. I've got to go and see a customer down next-door Bradshaw sheet metal tomorrow morning. I'll only be there for half an hour, trying to get out there at 8.30 back towards town, whichever way I choose to try will be a fooking nightmare. Don't know how people who live up there do it every day. Edited January 9, 20233 yr by boogs
January 9, 20233 yr Took me over an hour to drive from Newnham Street to Holland Street to Horrocks Fold and back this afternoon. It should take 15 minutes tops

January 9, 20233 yr 18 minutes ago, Casino said: Or fix it fucking properly ONCE Hough Fold Way is a load of shit. Almost the full length has lost all the top surface where the joint between the two tarmac half-lays has allowed water in and freeze-thawed into a shit driving surface. Perhaps if they increased the width of the laying machines so it lays without the need for a joint may help. As an aside, last week I was driving the family limo which was following a horse-drawn hearse up Hough Fold Way. One of the women in the back of the car asked me, “Why are the horses going side to side up the road?” I explained that the hearse , having wooden-spoked wheels, it’s important to try and miss the potholes. ”God, they must be very well trained!” She replied I didn’t bother telling her that the woman on top is actually steering. January 10, 20233 yr Thankfully I was going the other way but Scout Road was backed up from Belmont Road to Horrocks Wood car park last night, presume folk trying to go back down Belmont Road and then cut through to Blackburn Road and miss the roadworks.
