Why do the Cunts not do them in the Holidays

There's been a seemingly incessant series of roadworks for weeks.

Last weekend part of crompton way was closed off with cones and temporary lights.

Caused huge backlogs when the football and the music event at middlebrook were on.

No works were being undertaken. By Monday they'd gone. Obviously some work could have been undertaken but there was no evidence of it, and if would have been done on the Sunday. Something that they haven't don't at the Astley Bridge junction- another bag of shite.

Most road works done in holiday time where possible and to be honest that’s a pain in the arse .

Not all things can be though , but, to be fair, Bolton council are one of the best ( or worst dependent on which side you are on ) at insisting it is .

lot of things you won’t see any difference at all from one day to the next or even when it’s finished due to the work being under the road and sometimes the council don’t get a choice either

From my house there are two routes to Burnley, the nearest large-ish town.
One of those routes has been closed for at least six of the last twelve months for a series of road works, the other is currently down to one lane with temp lights whilst they rebuild a section of dry stone wall on the other side.

This work started mid-March for a period of 13 weeks, we're now approaching 26 weeks and they've done a third of the wall.

Useless twats.

I understand that, and my missus is sort of connected to the industry too, and I get information from the other side.

The crompton way thing was just a head scratcher though, and the works at Astley Bridge started quickly, with plenty of guys there and working at weekends. Now it's the opposite. Just seems so slow.

Yeh not sure who was on Crompton way last week to be honest .  if you mean the Thicketford rd junction.

this is a handy site, if you ever need to know , all works uploaded to this , you can get contacts and reasons along with expected duration

Let the protestors fill them in- they like to glue themselves to roads so just give them a bottle each.

Yeah, but those two roads are also the quickest routes to the M65 to get away from Burnley.

@fatolivewhat are they actually trying to do at AB

Is it the culmination of efforts to complely fuck up Crompton Way?

No involvement in that as a whole but was in the initial prep works , it’s  junction re modelling to create a dedicated right turns, for moss bank way to Blackburn rd mainly . Improve safety and traffic flow along with better pedestrian routes.

Is that left lane to Blackburn road/Belmont rd a filter without traffic lights now? Taxi I was in last night just went straight through with a little look to give way and im sure the main lights were on red. Or was he making his own rules up 🤷‍♂️

I don’t know but wouldn’t think so

Probably the taxi man .

Shouldn’t be.

Cones. That's the business to be in. Cones and temporary traffic lights.

You'll never be short of work.

Yeah I think it's now give way lines.

Gonna be loads of accidents with it I reckon.

So they’re introducing to that particular junction what they got rid of at the bottom of Kay Street where there was originally just a give way to turn left into Folds Road. It was deemed too dangerous so a traffic light was installed.

Regarding the junction at Astley Bridge, I reckon all they are looking to achieve could’ve been done just using road paint and having  dedicated left/straight/right lanes and additional filter arrows on the traffic lights.

Just been past. Appears it is but not everyone gets it as it’s a tad confusing.

Its another fuck up

They wont be happy til its crawling all the way from bury rd to chorley new

That Astley Bridge junction is a nightmare. Go through it once a week to see my mum. Signage is shite. It’s like random approach the junction and guess which lane is shut. Seems like a whole shit load of work to put a right turn from Moss Bank Way down to Asda (which was already there?) and some pedestrian islands in?

The number of cars getting trapped in the middle turning right is ridiculous. Particularly those heading north then trying to get onto crompton way.

In amongst all this, a solitary worker last week trying to manoeuvre is wheel barrow- like a scene from Benny Hill.
