Good man.

Ever tried feeshin?

😁 - no. I'm scared of catching one!

Ever since I thought I'd accidentally caught a stingray in Australia - and was surrounded by Aussies giving me advice on how to real it in for about 20 minutes, before landing what appeared to be a triangular piece of copper piping!

It's a "reely" good way of clearing the head; nature's mindfulness.

Just been talking to one mon at a lake, and he's just had a decent sized sturgeon out!

Apparently, if the EA find out, they'll want it clonking on the head! :(

Case in point. On Facebook - I started arguing with some flat earthers.

The algorithm now continually bombards me with

* Flat earth pages

* We didn't land on the moon pages

* Vaccines are part of an Illuminati mind control programme pages

* The pyramids were built by aliens pages

* Chemtrails pages

* There is no Nandos at Middlebrook pages

So basically it has figured out what it is that pisses me off and then bombards me with it so that I will interact - which strengthens the algorithm even further. Much of my time on Facebook was devoted to constantly pressing the 'not interested' button to try and 'clean up' the algorithm.

Basically I've realised this is pointless which is why I've largely sacked off social media altogether these days.

Similarly - if your politics is to the left, it bombards you with things which will make you want to argue and engage. Not sure whether this happens in reverse or not?

What an utterly shite and depressing system that is though!

So what you’re saying is that if I show an interest in something, the bots will send me something different? So if I click on some car ads. I may get clothes ads. showing up? That explains that Jag ad. 😊

The algorithm might - if it thinks there is a good chance you will engage with the content it throws up. And it doesn't care whether that's because you really love that content or really hate that content.

The bots are something different. The bots are the fake profiles that ping up and start replying to you. Which can get you even more riled.

4 fake profiles messaging me on the business page pretending to be meta.. reported all to Facebook who decided they didn't go against policy..

Facebook dying off now.

My mates Mrs put a video on Facebook the other day about chemtrails and how this bloke "explains it so succinctly".  He fookin didn't! What I wanted to know, and he never said, why would all the Governments be putting bromide, strontium et al into the air? I thought my mate, a really bright bloke, would be cringing at his Mrs' post but he liked it!

I do hope that's not a euphemism.

Can't say as I'm surprised. There's a lot of violence on X and seemingly the first response for many witnesses is to whip their phone out and film it. We used to say violent films and video games had a negative influence on kids.

Aye

Not sure what the data says about long term crime trends amongst younger people. But teenage boys being relentlessly targeted with violent and graphic crime videos is never going to end well.

At least with many video games it's obvious it's a fantasy. Whereas this is real content. Can't be healthy.
