I said that £350million a week was going to the eu and we were told it could go to the NHS instead.

Then It hasn’t happened.

The NHS is on its knees because of 12 years of dogshit governance 

But £113billion would have sorted it out, that much we can be sure of.

Don't apologise. I would feel the same way. Like you say - it's market forces. Nurses are voting with their feet. It can be an extremely demanding job both physically and mentally. It takes 3 years of study and 37.5 (non paid) working weeks just to qualify. When you do qualify you'll be thrown in at the deep end because there's a lack of senior nurses (loads have left). Plus you'll probably be doing at least half the work of one of the roles which haven't been filled. 

The other thing to think about is the way the job has changed. There is a hell of a lot more professional accountability these days. And some of the responsibility that used to be taken by a Doctor is now the job of the nurse. There's quite often no Doctor on a ward anymore. The nurses deal with everything until they need something prescribing. Not like it was years ago when it was more task orientated. 

Add to that a pandemic, what many perceive as shite pay and conditions, an underfunded service and you get people giving it up as a bad job. The amount of fantastic, experienced nurses I know who have packed it in is frightening. 

But all we ever hear is "make savings" or "become more efficient" or "get rid of the managers" - from people who haven't got the first clue about the realities (I'm not on about you here by the way). 

This is the first time in my life that I've been fearful that the NHS might just be lost completely. You can't imagine the chaos that would bring. Actually you probably can.

You're right - if it's an average then top of band 5 would be the choke point.
