I know there were a few threads of people saying they thought they'd get cheaper tickets in the Madrid end. Personally I'd much rather pay extra and be in the away section, but I'm just doing a bit of preparation work in case the 2,900 isn't enough.

Anyone managed to get tickets direct from Madrid yet?

I can see a Marseille situation developing...... Wait a month before getting in contact with the opposition. Come back with a small(ish) allocation. Go through the usual 2 week application process. Realise we don't have enough tickets. Discover it's too late to apply for any more. Why why why couldn't they at least have already gone through the application process so that they know how many people want to go?

The only good thing about football this weekend? Listening to this k<nt moaning about Styles' performance. Annoying when it happens to you isn't it Alan? Could there be as impartial pairing than him and Lawrenson?

It's pretty obvious which posters were and weren't in attendance last night. First half was a bit of mess - hard to know how much of it was down to the rain but it can't have helped. Second half showing was much much better - I thought we actually played some of the better stuff I've seen from us in quite a while. How we didn't get at least one goal in the second half I'll never know. Came away from the match feeling cautiously optimistic.

I can just imagine how happy some of our fans would be if that happened to us. So much moaning to do.

Are West Ham going to be the new Leeds?

Right. In the past I've never thought we had a chance of re-signing him. Whenever he's moved he's gone to clubs far bigger than us. However.... West Ham have just confirmed that they are currently holding talks. I know that he will command a big transfer fee and hefty wages but could he be just the signing to give everyone the feel good factor needed for what could be a difficult campaign? If he's willing to go to West Ham then surely he'd consider a bigger club with European football like us? Any thoughts?

Anyone suggesting that Italian football has a poorer atmosphere amongst away fans has never been to a Serie A match.

If you ignore the fact that Nicky was taught to distribute a ball by Jussi then I do think he's a good player. People quickly forget how many goal saving tackles, blocks and interceptions he made last season. There were numerous occasions when he covered for centre backs and even left back.
