I Dont Remember
And I don't remember a season when we have won so many away games in the top flight.

Ffs
Today was not good enough. Not a single good thing to say about the match to be honest. Every player was well well well below par.... ....but we are still 5th and even after that win Spurs are only 9th and are still 8 points behind us. Would you swap places with them? I know that I wouldn't.

The Filth Match
Personally I've always been of the opinion that it's up to the team who have been given the free kick to decide when they take it. Why should a team who have been penalised be entitled to the time to get men back and organised? If the attacker asks the ref to get the wall back 10 yards then at that point I think the ref can tell everyone to wait for the whistle. Otherwise I think it's down to the defenders to defend.

Nolan
You make some fair points but I have heard a number of 'experts' quite literally laugh when Nolan is mentioned for a possible England call up. We all know that he's actually not playing nearly as well as he can, but I go back to Steve McLaren's own words about Joey Barton which were along the lines of "We'll never know if he's good enough until he's given a chance". I'm not sure he's good enough but he's yet to be proved sub-standard unlike Jenas, Dyer, Wright-Phillips, Richardson etc etc.

Nolan
Surely the media have to give him more credit. After all he has led a pub team of has-beens and cloggers with a useless manager to the brink of the Champions League.

C'mon Wigan
And the ref wouldn't let the Wigan player back on after he'd gone off for treatment. Who says refs favour the big teams?
-
C'mon Wigan
Should have been a Wigan penalty and possibly an Arsenal red card. Awful officiating.

It's Here Again
Admittedly we are rubbish at the Cottage but our last 5 home matches have actually been pretty fruitful.... Bolton 2 - 1 Fulham Bolton 1 - 0 Fulham Bolton 3 - 1 Fulham Bolton 0 - 2 Fulham Bolton 1 - 0 Fulham 4 wins in 5 matches and the loss was on the last day of the season when we were already safe. Be positive TSO!

Tottenham Away
What the f<uck are the ticket office up to this time? Tickets only went on sale on Monday, plenty of people will probably want to buy them on Sunday to avoid the booking fee and they don't go on general sale until the middle of next week. Oh and I don't think we have ever failed to sell out are allocation there.

Gartside In The Bolton News
Surely following Mr Garthside's logic it might have been nice to have had 3,000 - 4,000 fans down at Highbury for the cup game. Shame they f<cked up the ticketing arrangements.

Sven Mclaren
And another couple of things....... 6. Either (a)The players were told not to try or (b)The players themselves couldn't be bothered. This can only be because either (a) McLaren thinks we're so good that we don't need to actually use these matches to improve the team or (b)McLaren can't motivate the players and gives them the impression they will not be dropped regardless of their performance. Neither is acceptable 7. Would we have done any worse if the FA were paying me ??50K per year to manage the team?

Sven Mclaren
A lot of people were happy that Big Sam didn't get the England job because they feared he would play boring defensive football with 1 up front. Well at the very least that 1 up front would be someone who can do the job. I know they are injured but can anyone hand on heart tell me that we would have been any worse with the 2 Kevs playing last night. Whilst there are actually thousands, I just want to point out 5 reasons why Sven McLaren must be sacked.... 1. P Neville and Barry. McLaren claimed that the only reason he didn't start Barry at left back was because he wanted someone who plays there every week for their club. P Neville has played midfield all season for Everton. He brings on Barry in the midfield and he actually looks half decent. What does McLaren do? He moves him to the position that he himself had said he shouldn't be playing in. WTF? 2. Lampard and Gerrard. 100+ caps between them and not one good England performance might lead some to think that this isn't going to work. 3. Shaun Wright Phillips. Presumably McLaren didn't bother to watch his only starts this season against Wycombe. And did anyone else notice how the BBC completely glossed over his dire performance. Nothing to do with one of the studio guests I'm sure. 4. Never was player's name more apt than the Toon playboy who returned to the England 11 last night. I was going to say the playboy who played for England last night but that wouldn't be true. I was also going to say the England team but they weren't 5. After the match he said that we threatened often and created lot of opportunites but were let down by our finishing. Was he pissed or asleep?

Tactics
That was exactly how I saw it Jules. I have no problem with playing ugly when it is the most effective approach, but on Saturday it was pretty obvious that we would have done better keeping the ball on the ground. The only thing the Watford centre backs can do is head the ball .... and when you've got Stelios rather than Davies challenging it just doesn't make sense. Ugly works a lot of the time but the horse for Saturday's course was fast free flowing football which Watford would not have been able to cope with.

Tottenham Away
Always a good turn out for this one. Can't remember the last time we didn't sell our allocation. What more could you want? Good stadium, decent atmosphere ..... and the guarantee of 3 points.

So it was you boys giving Lionel a hard time. Good work!

Jussi
Sorry Ani but I don't think people are just picking on Nicky for the sake of it. I for one have given him plenty of praise when he has played well this season. He has put in some very good performances and made numerous goal saving blocks / challenges. BUT yesterday his distribution was extremely poor. On numerous occasions when he was unchallenged he made passes which weren't within 30 yards of a white shirt. The pass which led to Jussi handling the ball was ridiculous and I would have been furious if they had scored. I won't get on his back when I'm at a match but I can sure as hell point out his faults here. Out of interest where do you think Sam should be looking to strengthen in the summer?

What Are You Going To Moan About Today
We're only 5th in the league. We only have 2 World Class strikers. We only beat Arsenal once in our 2 meetings this season. We only beat Liverpool once this season. We'll probably end up having to settle for that mickey mouse Uefa cup again.

Tactics
I know that we picked up the 3 points but I've got to admit I was a bit surprised / disappointed with the way that we played. We have obviously enjoyed a lot of success hitting long 'passes' to Davies but given his absence and the nature of the Watford's centre backs I thought we might have changed our approach for this one. At times our passing was too good for Watford but then we'd hit a long ball up for Stelios / Diouf to try and win. Yes we won today, but I'm not convinced the tactics will get the same result against the better teams we face over the next few weeks. Your thoughts please?

Got to say that I thought Nicky has played better over the past few games, but his distribution today was absolutely dire ..... and if we had conceded at the death it would have been completely his fault.- I'm Really Looking Forward To
Nobody could have made today's game sound good. Nobody!- I'm Really Looking Forward To
They'll only get 30 seconds of highlights if they include Rob Styles and his assistants shaking hands and high fiving after their warm up. Very very embarassing. - Jussi
