As far as PNE team I can only name Farnworth, Ellis maybe, Ainsworth , some shortarse that gave us a hard time in the first half that they got rid of along with their manager John McGrath , & brought in that balloon John Beck who took them down . They weren’t a bad side whist McGrath was manager.

Stubbs got the equaliser at the town end , Scott. Green got the other . Philliskirk & Reeves I reckon up front .The Bolton crowd were pretty restless at HT 0-2 down.My PNE mate swears we were calling for Rioch’s head , but he was wrong .We were singing sack the board etc. I think we had lost the previous game at Chester ? & we were well down the league at the time .Rioch worked his magic after that & the rest is history.We also had injuries at the time also , Lyadaite a good shout .

Thought first half there was a bit too much space behind Johnston. Tutu is very fond of taking an extra touch & losing possession, they brought the winger on & targeted him , agree he is uncomfortable defensively. He has much talent but tends to maybe think he’s better than he is. Tbf he was outstanding at Stevenage & good at Mansfield so it’s inconsistency than prevents him from playing at a higher level. Shooting practice this week hopefully with McAtee & Barstow given a bag of balls each & a set of goalposts to aim at !

Certainly not more than 13k on , but heyho you pays your money etc. Move for winning goal was top notch unlike anything that happened before it even Cissoko’s reverse pass to Tutu was perfection !

Toal needs replacing in the medium term , he hasn’t improved much Dempsey is very much a squad player so probably a keep.

I’m pretty indifferent to Morley leaving , always thought he had potential but has seldom shown any real form . Can’t blame him going through the motions last Tuesday either. Think we need a proper LB to give Conway a breather as a priority , Taylor doesn’t look up to the job. Ideally a RB too as Christie can’t last ninety minutes & Tutu has injury fragility. Asking a lot LB / RB & a striker , might get two out of three ?

Aye , why does the Burton match invariably fall on a Tuesday night in deepest winter ? Hope we can win this by any means possible. It won’t be Saturday neet at the palladium that’s for sure nevertheless we should have enough to beat these even with their bogie status.

Blackpool trying to get Apter back on loan , Charlton fans not happy with him going out on loan, Blackpool are in the box seat on this . He’s very quick & direct , would be an asset if we got him.

Decent point on a postage stamp pitch & a team of shithouses , they were set up not to lose & maybe scab a winner from a bobbly set piece. If we hadn’t been on a shit run pre Wiggin that would have been lauded as a good point . Happy with four points from the last two games . Hard to move the ball quickly forward on such a short pitch with opponents set up defensively. Tutu was our best player by a mile , although Forino & Conway were decent. That Phillips isn’t really a footballer is he , ref must have been intimidated by him or just bent , eight fouls through the back of our players , not a hint of a yellow card . Having said that Johnston could have walked for his lunge.

We need a right back pronto, Christie won’t cut it .Back up ok but not starting regularly. Tutu could step up but is injury prone . Anderson had a decent season last year but seems to be another wide man !! Mixed feelings on Cogley , good pro , decent going forward poor defensively.

Gale was total pants , Sheehan not in the game first half . Can understand Gale being hooked he was so wasteful in front of goal . Don’t think Sheehan deserved to be subbed two minutes before HT (solely based on his recent form & Shumaker’s bugging up of him ) Being humiliated in such a fashion might rebound on SS he could have waited until HT & withdrawn one of our more reliable players Tbh though getting rid of of our wingers with Tutu operating further up the pitch looked at least promising, given that Johnson was having a mare we still looked vulnerable on the break , however could & should have been 3-3 with the disallowed goal &Burstows miss . The way forward is clearly visible & not even pretty on the eye . Leave ACD & Gale on the bench & fucking compete , bring them on as impact subs. We only won second balls when we thickened up through the middle.

I’m with gonzo on Cogley , he’s deficient sometimes defensively but has the engine of a 500 Norton ( age related reference: motor bike) & absolutely brings the best out of ACD.Christie his older relative with a great delivery but not much more as as the years take their toll along with energy levels. If we ain’t signing another full back it’s a stick not twist. Ps his last outing at Luton when we were down to ten men he was well exposed on that right side with longish cross passes maybe our manager could have employed our limited resources in at least cutting out those passes by sticking someone in there to cut them out , it was not sophisticated football.JSL.

I joined Bolton till I die on FB in order to try to get some coach transport to Doncaster . My God , expected it to be a bit juvenile but stunned at the level of vitriol launched at our manager & players (not constructive criticism ) Anyway sacked it off but what an eye opener . Players need to stay away from social media.

It’s a very uncooperative website imo , seems to balk at every command nearly didn’t persist after yesterdays fiasco. In but not very optimistic hope our form improves soon.

Think the two wingers playing away from home is ok when the long diagonal passes come off , which they did the first twenty minutes or so. We got really sloppy after we scored & began our sideways & backwards routine in our own half & let them push up & pressure us into mistakes. Essentially two slips cost us the game , when one of their defenders slipped in the second half they got away with it. We then toiled against two banks of defenders. Ironically when Cissoko came on he managed to cross the ball into the penalty box but Dalby was off the field by then , a bit more flexibility is required from Gale & ACD wingers switching over maybe now & again . Give the opposition something different to contend with.

Great win for them , Leicester slightly more polished , their no.2 looked a cut above, Lomax our goalie played very well Ritchie looks promising as well

On tight pitches it seems a tall order to play two wingers , I think two strikers a better option with maybe ACD given license to roam . Having said that you need good fullbacks & yesterday we had crap ones.After the first fifteen minutes nothing stuck up top , Burstow struggling a bit form wise didn’t help. Thing is we’ve been here before against more direct teams.In that respect it was a good point however there are plenty teams in this league who go direct .Midfield have to gobble up second balls , that didn’t happen yesterday so a more flexible approach is required including three in the midfield or two up top depending on the opposition.Two wingers away from home shouldn’t be mandatory.

Backs against the wall last twenty minutes but we didn’t fold completely.Toal & Johnstone have upped their game considerably. Conway had a poor game & Cogley needs replacing in the window as Christie won’t be fit enough to play every game. Can’t understand why we didn’t combat the diagonal ball that exposed Cogley time & time again.ie one on one against a guy that skinned him. Tutu had a decent game & has quality when he wants to use it. Morley disappointed again giving the ball away with careless flicks & inaccurate passing. Symonds was good & harshly sent off for two decent tackles that another referee might not have given even fouls for.ACD marked to the hilt on a tight pitch As soon as the match turned into a physical battle which largely bypassed midfield we lost control but got to give the other team credit for working out our weaknesses. Good point .Performances like that are a necessary part of a promotion campaign.
