There in lies the problem with me. If folk were expecting things to change straight away it was an unrealistic expectation. He wasn't suddenly going to come in and have us playing lovely football and have us climbing the league table. He is hopefully a long term appointment who the fans will support and get behind. We were 3rd bottom when he took over, we are still 3rd bottom and we will continue to be in and around the relegation zone till the end of the season, hopefully just scraping enough points to avoid the drop. That's the reality for me, that's how it would have been under Megson, that's how its going to be under Coyle, the big difference being the fans would supposedley support Coyle and the team without the animosity and negativity that surrounded Megson. The sooner people accept this the sooner these neagtive attitudes can be shelved, god forbid we go down, till the end of the season. Until then fcuking get behind them and play your part in helping us get the points we need to stay up.

It's a good point you make there. When you are faced with current adversity it always seems worse than that faced previously. If the worst happens and we lose to Wolves, yes its disastrous, yes we will wonder how things can change for the better and we will feel as if all is lost, but those 2 occasions you highlight above were potentially of more dire consequence and were, if memory serves me right, further on in the season with less time to turn it around

I heard a bit, take it all with a pinch of salt really. Unfortunately people believe a lot of the bullshit that's spoke by joe public thickos. People don't like us and would love us to go down, we wouldn't be missed by anyone if we did go down. That's bollocks, 3 of Knights best games this season have come against Fulham, Tottenham and Wigan. In all 3 he wasn't with Cahill, 2 were with Rickets and 2 of them were clean sheets. Generally last night was again extremely disappointing with the same problems continuing. I am not sure how, maybe a bit of luck, a wonder goal, a refereeing decision going our way, but change needs to happen and happen quickly, Wolves is massive. Didn't expect anything last night, I was just praying for a goal, as Coyle said, I believe one will lead to more and then we need to get resolute again at the back, a big ask, but the fans and more importantly the manager and players need to believe this can happen Saturday. After a couple of scrappy wins against Wolves and Wigan either side of 2 defeats at West Ham and Sunderland, the unconvincing run continues with little back until final 4 games. We head to Stoke 2nd bottom and gain a creditable point. Only the faithful are with us at this point as the players pull off a victory against doomed pompey, confidence is lifted with another point at Spurs, followed with a nailbiting radio at ears final game vicory against Birmingham which sees us survive by 2 points. Come on mate, cheer up a bit! Although I only "know" you as a poster on here, up until the last few months you have usually been quite positive even in the most desperate of situations and I admired your staunch support of all things BWFC. It seems, as I was, you were disappointed and disgusted with the element of "support" the team were getting under Megson and perhaps you have a point that it shouldn't have come to what it did. I supported the team and Megson all the time he was our manager, but in the end things had to change, which I think you also acknowledge. So from that point on, it is stupid to look back with negativity and animosity, even if you feel you are making a justified point. Looking forward should be our only option There are many problems which need addressing, anybody who has seen the last few games knows that. But for me you have to believe that things can change for the better - that's why we go isn't it? To initiate change Coyle and the players have to remain positive and IMO so do we as fans whether you truly believe it or not. Wrong again IMO. The people who are telling us to look forward are those who generally want to have a positive outlook. I tried to be the same with Megson in charge. Harping on about negatives all the time is boring and unproductive. You acknowlegde it and try to do something about it, which is exactly what Coyle is trying to do, I suggest you do the same. Alternatively keep moaning, keep attributing blame, turn up depressed on Saturday and play your part in getting us relegated.

I think we will see Wilshire start next Saturday. 5 weeks in and Coyle is still seeing what the current squad can do. He played Gardner in central midfield against Spurs he played well so therefore kept him in for next game, that was a shitter of a pitch (as was Blackburn) and was difficult for any Central midfielder, probably more so for a player like Wilshire, so I can see why he hasn't been given more of a chance yet. Wednesday could be last chance saloon for players such as Gardner, Elmander, Chungy and Taylor establishing themselves as starters. Come Saturday changes will need to be made and I expect Coyle will make them. As for Wenger asking for Wilshire back, over reaction, he is getting more action with the brief cameo here than he was not even making the bench for Arsenal. Add the fact that as well as Coyle seeing what he had, not throwing wilshire on on a mud bath and sensibly easing him into action, Wilshire could well have an important part to play yet.

Great first post. Megson's position had become untenable, there was a minority of fans who wrongly never game him a chance, equally as wrong IMO there were a number of fans who vocally shamed themselves on numerous occassions, but Megson rarely tried to build the bridges and often tarred us all with the same brush. Even if Megson would have stayed I am not sure this bad run of results would have been any better, but what is absouletly nailed on is the vitriol would have been increasingly horrific and the feeling bitter and intense. So please, those harping on about Megson move on for Fcuks sake We all have a part to play in ensuring this feeling doesn't return. The point you make about Practically EVERYONE wants to see us suffer and get relegated is true, moaning and being negative towards Coyle and the team is simply adding to this.

Only natural after a 3- 0 defeat, even for someone with a generally positive outlook. With each defeat comes more pressure, making the Wolves game massive. Things need to change, I still believe Coyle and the players can instigate the change needed.

So many things wrong with that post IMO. "More than good enough" is suprisingly over optimistic on your part, maybe just good enough I am hoping. The rest of your post is to type, negative drivel. The injection of optimism has surely got to come from having a manager who is charismatic, positive, vibrant and with a strong belief that we are good enough. Off course this would be so much better had we got a few more points and weren't being as woeful in front of goal with the added loss of our best player. "The blame lies with one bloke" - what crap, lets hope there are no depressants like you within the dressing room. I still think we can just get 4 wins out of next 12 games with a possible few draws, then again we might not, we are in a relegation battle and we could go down, I thought this with Megson and its not going to suddenly change with Coyle, anyone who thought otherwise was completely misguided. Regardless, Coyle deserves our backing, not the blame you are trying to attribute to him.

We have, it's just that they are not doing it at the moment. Earlier in the season Taylor and Cohen were chipping in, Davies scored a good goal last week, Chungy is more than capable of finding the net as is Klasnic who may be risked tomorrow. Expecting Elmander is too much to ask, but you never know.... The todd team comparison isn't valid for me. That team was doing it at a completely different level so to until you know how the present team would compare a division below, you just don't have a clue I just don't buy in to this negative expectation of relegation. This isn't rose tinted spectacles or cloud cuckoo land just a realistic expectation that we will have lots of downs between now and end of season, but hopefully enough to get the few wins/draws that we need

Agree with most of that, apart from the "polishing turds" bit which suggests our squad is inferior to other relegation candidates and we don't have the players to keep us up, I think we do.....just But the sentiment about the rest of your comments is absolutely spot on. Yesterday wasn't as negative as some folk are having us believe. It's easy to come on here and moan about things you didn't like. Perhaps my bench mark is low, but if we can go into our home game against Portsmouth knowing a win will keep us safe I will be happy, loads of ups and downs before then. Calm down matey! Can't expect him to talk any differently can you? Only if there was a feeling of resignment, lack of effort, attitude would I expect him to start getting negative. He may be telling a few home truths behind closed doors but quite rightly the public view is one of support and positivity which has to be right. Remember harmony not acrimony. I see your point, in defending Coyle some see the need to slate the players and previous regime instead! I do see you are optimistic and like you say we are where we are, and we have what we have got and I think we are in agreement that it will take time with a few ups and downs to get it right and in the meantime the manager and players should get our support.

He answered the question of leaving a forward up pretty well. Primary pupose on a corner is to not concede, he talked about having players on the posts being essential, using Chungy as an example where he didn't do his job against Arsenal and also about having players with pace positoned on edge of box(which as Micky D above suggests didn't happen at Liverpool with SKD there!) I don't think a lone player up front would do much to retain possession or set up an attack.

2 contrasting statements here and the reality is somewhere in the middle. One suggests we have suddenly become a passing side which will see us go into the championship. And the other which asks the question is Coyle better than Megson? Both are negative and IMO needless. Nothing is going to change overnight, so for me irrational statements and questions like this are nonsense. Negative reactions to a defeat at Anfield are a waste of time, Jesus we have lost 10 out of our last 11 there. Are we now a passing side? How on earth could we be? I have seen and heard enough from Coyle to suggest we aren't suddenly going to change our philosophy immediately. Have things changed and is Coyle better than Megson is equally as daft. He has brought a different type of player to the club and yesterday his subs suggested he is still sussing out the squad. Regardless of how we play and who the manager is its likely we are going to be involved in the relegation scrap and in accepting this, inevitably we will have poor performances and poor results. Don't let this lead to reactive irrational statements and questions. We believed that Coyle would be given a long honeymoon period and rightly so, so let's not taint this, give him time and our full support.
