  1. Great post. My dad, Reebok tour guide, spoke on BBC news yesterday. He is pretty close to players and was quite emotional talking about Fab, but managed to Get across that we are a family club and all we all want to see is his smiling face back at the reebok.
  2. Absolutely numb. Please god pull through
  3. And little mention of bogdan s save. It's as if the fact that it did cross the line completely nullifies the save. If he doesn't make the save it breaks the back of the net. The history books will tell you they didn't score and a massive factor in that is that bogdan has made an unbelievable world class save.
  4. Right, Coyle has got things wrong this season, I don't dispute that. Lots of managers do and are derided by sets of their own fans, including the best ones. I just think you have to be careful of grass is always greener scenario. CHelsea and wolves situations are warnings that getting rid may not be best option. I work in Preston and its another case in question that getting rid of brown, who was getting slaughtered at the time, is now very questionable and would be welcomed back with open arms. BE careful what you wish for.
  5. MY grandad was there too, shocking. And that list always surprises me with the many bolton fans that came from outside of bolton RIP
  6. It just goes to show the lack of quality this squad has, that a player who 18 months ago was a reserve midfielder being derided for his inability to pass and shoot, is now being proclaimed as the first midfielder on the team sheet. Need to sneak something somehow tomorrow. MY lads doing the front line on the pitch tomorrow, photo in programme etc hope its win for his sake. 2-1 the whites, holding on for dear life at the end!
  7. PIssed, great day, what was the score?
  8. You have addressed Ready2Roll's comments but not mine So go on you still haven't answered my question who would you have in from our current fit and available? 22 Jussi Jaaskelainen Defenders 2 Bernard Mendy 25 Simon Charlton 4 Gudni Bergsson 5 Bruno N'Gotty Reserve Defenders 5 Colin Hendry 6 Paul Warhurst 24 Anthony Barness Midfielders 8 Per Frandsen 10 Augustine (Jay Jay) Okocha 11 Ricardo Gardner 16 Ivan Campo 15 Kevin Nolan Reserve Midfielders[*]14 Gareth Farrelly [*]20 Nicky Southall 28 Jermaine Johnson 29 Stig Tofting Forwards Youri Djorkaeff Dean Holdsworth Henrick Pedersen Bo Hansen Michael Ricketts I tell you what some of those fringe players would be good enough to get into this current team!
  9. In fact Homer I think you have had too much brandy in your Christmas Pudding. Add to that list a younger Gardner and wasn't it Bergsson's last season? Although at the twilight of his career still better than anything we currently have (you could possibly argue Cahill). In fact other than Cahill I am struggling to add anyone from today's "stronger" squad.
  10. I can only agree the management team was stronger then. As for the players no way. JJ, Ngotty, Djorkaef, Nolan, Campo younger version of jussi. Just a couple of those players would make a difference.
  11. This mornings 2002/3 season confirms my view that our current set of fit and available players are not good enough to avoid relegation
  12. Yes in for this x5.
  13. Now you see asking Coyle to keep Petrov at that level and asking it as the leading question suggests an inaccurate hierachy of responsibilty. Surely; 1) Petrov is the main person responsible for this 2) This could be massiveley effected by the standard of full back/opposition he is up against. (And may even effect his performance against Newcastle regardless of the effort and application he puts in) 3) Then maybe you could start adding Coyle and his man-management and tactics after Don't get me wrong all are important.
  14. Taken a day to shake off the hangover. Great night. The similarities and differences to 3 years ago were stark. That night 3 seasons ago was an embarrassment as a Bolton fan, last night however despite the 2-0 at half time then conceding a goal in second half, I couldn't have felt any more proud, the support and backing was top notch. I am however still trying to keep a realsitic perspective on our current status. I am still not convinced these players are consistently good enough to deliver anything other than a relegation struggle, however if this is a relegation struggle that ends in us scraping to 17th on the final game of the season then I will take that and could just be possible if they demonstrate an ounce of consistency. There wasn't much disagreement when after Wigan Coyle selected the same side for Sunderland. Same again after the Stoke win at West Brom. However on both those occasions the same set of players weren't good enough to handle the problems that they were confronted with. And again we find ourselves in the same position, I would happily see the same side go out against Newcastle and there is nothing more I would love than to see these players prove me wrong and follow the Blackburn win with a performance that provides with some points (or a point) on Boxing Day. Go out there and prove that you are premiership quality - and that includes the players and the manager.
  15. That's my worry. However I think one or two additions could possibly make a difference. Don't ask me who and I don't mean somebody unrealistic. We are missing players with some natural leadership qualities as SKD and Robbo have lost all form and confidence and cahill s mind is else where. That for me is having a massive negative impact.

Good shout. Every sensible, rational, reasonable cell in my brain tells me to give this a miss, but we all know that rationality goes out the window! COYFWM
  17. You see this is the dilemma for me are these players, and the ones currently available, good enough to keep us up? I said it a few months back that these players weren't good enough and we would be in a relegation struggle. Whether It's Coyle or Hughes in charge I don't see the picture changing that much. And that's the depressing reality which I am trying to shake off before heading to ewood tomorrow.

Will be there x 6. Really struggling to be positive, may have to go early and have lots of pints to numb the pain.
  19. Who Riley? Davis? Rickets? Eaves? Or all 4 of them
  20. Surely its Phil Neal or john McGovern, no no hang on seriously Bruce Rioch. Gees when you put your mind to It there's loads out there
  21. The comical irony of this thread is fantastic, it's actually hard to tell whether people are posting genuine thoughts on who they would like or posting complete nonsense. Obviously as the experts would tell us they would all do a better job than Coyle
  22. Yet you would have Steve Bruce in? Strange.
