  1. Saw him against Chorley. He’s beefed out a bit. He was as good as our other midfielders that day. Looks like he had a decent game today as well.
  2. Signed this guy today. Eric Yoro. 18 year old. Another B team addition by the looks of it
  3. Looks like we are keen to get the deal done on this Irish defender.
  4. Great to see 3 Brits in the top ten. Don’t think anyone is troubling top 2 though unless injury/covid strike.
  5. Shame we meet each other in the semi. Winner of Derbs/Somerset to play Hampshire. I reckon the winner is coming from our semi. I looked for tickets thinking it would be later in the summer. It’s next week, so Carlisle takes priority 😊. I’m presuming we’ll still be without Butler, Livingstone and Parky - ah well didn’t do us any harm last night. Great strength in depth and when you have experienced campaigners like Croft leading the way we must stand a very good chance 👏
  6. Depends on the context. - It will vary in terms of Pro athletes. Each year Ironman will announce which worldwide races are pro races. If Bolton is listed then you’ll get the best pros over here. We’ve had them in the past, but not for the last couple of years. - It does have worldwide appeal as it’s the only English IM full distance event, it’s the UK one. Although they do have an IM Wales - Nationally and locally It attracts thousands of club athletes and long distance amateur athletes because of its status. So yes it’s actually it’s quite a big thing and as Bolton folk we should be pretty proud of it 😊
  7. “A sell-out crowd of 68,871 and a huge TV audience on BBC1” suggests it’s more popular than some are proposing on here. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/england-women-euros-austria-lionesses-27417187.amp I watched it and enjoyed it. If you are going to grow a sport and try to inspire more young girls to be passionate, competitive and lead active, healthy lifestyles, and prime time viewing and positive press encourages this, then I don’t see why some are so negative.
  8. I know George. Swims with Horwich masters as I did when I was training. It’s great to have a local (Bolton) winner. His bike and run puts him not too far behind the pros, but his swim (he was 120 odd I think coming out of the water) needs some improvement if he’s to get to that level. Similar to my swim time in 2019 which probably explains why he’d need some improvement to get to Pro level. 😂Ironic that swimming is my best discipline, but that is for a bog standard club amateur athlete. 😊
  9. I wasn’t starting from scratch when I made my decision to do it. It was a long process of doing a few years of smaller triathlons, then in 2018 doing a half distance. Then from that moment I dedicated a year of systematic and structured training to be in a position to compete and complete a full IM I do know others who have within a year started from scratch (not confident swimmers or cyclists) and finished.
  10. Unbelievable effort to get over the line with seconds to spare I did it in 2019 - I only talk about it if people ask….. or post about it 😊.. Or comment on my tattoo 😂 Sad fuckers £450 in 2019 Chorley council and Lancs CC kicked up a bit of a fuss so they are restricted to Bolton/Bury/Blackburn now. The bike course now compared to pre 2018 makes it one of most difficult IM in the world. A million miles away fitness wise from where I was 3 years ago but I’ve not written off giving it another crack at some point in the future - massive dedication and time commitment to training required.
  11. Ha ha She was well worth staying behind the dugout for 😉
  12. Someone needs to tell Evatt 😂 I stood behind him for about 15 mins. Crikey he was losing the plot with players, referee, opposition dugout. I love it how he’s so passionate even in a “meaningless friendly”
  13. Made a last minute decision to head down. Heard a few of their staff and stewards say they weren’t expecting this many! Reminds me of some of our L2 games when we had about 90% possession but not quite had the goal return to match. Most certainly attack v defence. Missed the first goal as I was still queuing for a pint! Nice ball in from Morley for Bod’s goal. Thomason best midfielder in first half, Bradley looks lively.
  14. Good day for the Brits so far; Watson, Boulter and Broady through 👏
  15. What a victory for Boulter 👏. She is gorgeous too
  16. In x 4 - Ticking off Brunton Park - Nice train ride through the lakes - Train drinks and Carlisle watering holes - Hopefully nice summer Saturday - Check out our performing squad What’s not to like about that 😊. Looking forward to it 👏
  17. Rife in schools again. 2 of mine currently got it. Woke up coughing this morning so will do a test…..
