I think there will be more money, maybe a couple of million. With Sam saying that he wants at least 6 players, i think he will get 2 or 3 on a free and 3 or 4 he will spend some money. I can't see him spending all our money on 1 player and expect to get 5 free players of a decent quality.

So happy with this news. Wanted the guy from the minute I found out we were interested. He's got to be Reebok bound now, having let Bruno and Jay Jay go thats surely ??50 grand a week freed up which could be used for Johnson, and I don't think Whelan (even though he's got the money) will offer more than that for his wages. So in my opinion it will be purely a choice of which club he prefers. And it's an easy decision, a club that is an established premiership team and will be challenging for Europe next season, or a team of pie-eaters that have been in the premiership one season, a lucky one at that, and are championship bound next season!

I'm not saying that this guy is'nt going to be ok, because i haven't seen him play. It's just that Vaz had broke into the team at his age so i'm just going off the thinking that he is'nt as good as Vaz was at that age.

He's 19 now, I know it's still young but if he was anything special then surely we would have seen something of him at least in the cup.

I agree, Sam is'nt stupid. He is'nt going to spend that kind of money on somebody that he thinks is going to be a risk. And just putting this bid in must mean that we have the money becuase we know how tight our board is with their money, if there was any risk money wise then our board would simply say no and we would get nothing again. For fcuk sake stop moaning know we are finally willing to spend decent amounts of money and just look forward to the players that we will bring in.

Just heard that Reo-Coker has pulled out of England's stand-by squad with injury and has been replaced by PHIL NEVILLE. I thought Nolan should have been in the main squad or at the least in the stand-by squad to start with. And now we find out that he was'nt even on stand-by for the stand-by squad. And instead Eriksson has chosen a has-been that even in his prime was'nt good, and does'nt stand out in a team full of jokers. And he can't argue that he needed a defensive midfielder, becuase Reo-Coker is'nt defensive.

I agree I think Reading will do the same as Sunderland by walking the Championship but then failing in the Premiership, I think Sheffield will put up more of a fight but will also go down. And I think Watford will still be battling for relagation but will survive (mainly through Marlon King and Ashley Young)

I think Glen Johnson would be a great signing for our right -back area. Young, English, loads of talent. Ok he has'nt had the best time at Chelsea, but Chelsea don't exactly get the best out of their players. And he's available for transfer, and I don't think he would cost alot, (1 or 2 million)

That would be the cover for Ricky sorted then, so now it's just the problem of the right-back. Stick him the midfield, wasted at full back. Don't get me wrong i did'nt mean that he would only be a good buy as cover for ricky, and be sat on the bench whenever he's not acting as cover. I also think he is better in midfield but what i mean is if ricky was injured for one or two games we know that we have a DECENT (no more Pedersen) cover for him.

How can people possibly say that this guy still is'nt a proven goalscorer. He scored all them goals in the championship then came into the premiership and scored 21. Some of the goals in that compilation are fair enough in the championship but it's obvious that this guy is quality and he will score 15+ goals a season. Every season! SIGN HIM UP!!!

Good point, both out in Portugal together, looks like AJ is definately on his way and with a few teams in the running, one being the team that Sammy Lee is assistant manager of, he has to be putting in a few good words for us. If he's not then he's missing a good opportunity.

I agree there is no way Keane is leaving. Yea they've bought a new striker for all that money but I think it's pretty certain Mido wont sign permantley and it looks like defoe is on his way aswel.

not full backs. Full back and possibly cover for one of the best full backs in the premiership. But yea it's something that needs sorting.
