  1. IMO towards the end of last season the formation was more of a 4-3-3 then a 4-5-1 and I thought we played quite attacking football. I thought it was effective and worked, I also think that Vaz plays best in this formation and next season I think our front three line up will be Davies in the centre with Vaz and Diouf either side. Unless we get saviola or Anelka then I haven't got a clue what we'll do.
  2. Vaz Te will be Bolton's top scorer this season. Once he got his first premiership goal last season his confidence went sky high and he couldn't stop scoring. The end of the season came at the wrong time for him, but he's scored a good goal in pre-season and I think he will be our best striker next season. [-o<
  3. the chelsea game was one of the best atmospheres of the season. Agreed, a great day out and well worth the money. Even though we got tore apart in 5 minutes #-o
  4. People blame the atmosphere for not getting a season ticket. I am in agreement that the atmosphere at the bok is pretty poor most of the time. However I can't think of many grounds in the premiership where the atmosphere created from the home fans is good. For example at the Chelsea match last season, when we went 3, 4 and 5 1 down we were still outsinging them. They were the champions, in the best years of there clubs history, watching world class players week in week out and were still being outsung by around 1000 fans watching their team get walked all over. The fact is that a home match is now a family experience for a lot of people and also a day out for some people. With the supporters who want to sing all spread out over the stadium the atmosphere will never be too good and that is why away matches have such a good atmosphere most of the time, because you have all the hardcore fans who want to sing all the way through the match all together. I also think the fact that we have a new stadium doesn't help the atmosphere. I have a friend who is a shitty fan and he said that the atmosphere at the new stadium is pathetic compared to that at maine road, they even played songs through the loud speakers against us :D/, and they are supposed to have some of the best fans in England.
  5. Bruno and Jaidi will be the best defensive partnership in the Championship next year. ??2M for both of them is very good business for Brum as I am sure they will help them come straight back into the Premiership. Then they will come back to the reebok and Bruno can be given the farewell that he deserved, and then we can take an easy 3 points off them after.
  6. I agree with these comments. Prices for top players have gone silly. But putting it in perspective ??10.4M for Ruud Van Horse Face was a great price compared to what Johnson went for (??8.5M?) So bargains are still out there and Sam has come out and said "This is what I have to spend... no more.... if you want to come to Bolton then this is what I will pay... no more!" Was RVN a bargain or was Johnson well over priced? IMO Johnson was well over priced. I think that ??10.4M was about the right price for Ruud but ??8.5M for Johnson was way too much, therefore making the RVN price a bargain.
  7. If that wasn't a joke then it was a fcuking stupid post. As as said he is one of the best defenders in the world and only the top teams from England and spain would have a chance of getting him.
  8. If we were to sign Anelka AND Saviola I, for one, would have one of the biggest smiles on my face EVER Do I care how much it costs BWFC ? . . . errrm No! Do I care if Anelka is a nice honourable man? . . . not one bit. Will I be worried about central defence? . . . Faye and Tal Ben looked an awesome combo to me [ and I have a sneaky suspicion Meite and Woodgate will probably be first choice come August. ] Goalscorers at the TOP level is what we need and if I can watch one at the Reebok next season and feel there is a way back when we go a goal down . . . [ that's me that is ] Well said. I couldn't care less how much we spend, it's not my money and with a chairman as careful as Gartside incharge then we will only spend if we have the money, therefore we won't get in any financial difficulties.
  9. Sounds like a good bit of dealing from Sam. Like exiledwhite2 said he won't be brought in to be first choice, and we will get the cash from Jaidi's transfer aswell. To me our defense is now complete, we have 3 quality centre backs TBH Faye and Miete, one that is surely capable of covering if needs be Stovini, and a kid that is meant to be very good Fojut. :D/ Now to complete the midfield and strikers.
  10. It shows how desprate manure were getting in the transfer market. They got rejected by a number of players and from that Tottenham could virtualy name any price any manure would pay up. If they had already made 1 or 2 decent signings then Tottenham would never have got more than 12 million for him. They made fools out of manure. Well done Tottenham
  11. In our squad at the moment we have 2 centre backs who we know are of a high quality and are good enough for the premiership, TBH and Faye. We then have Miete who although he is not proven yet I am expecting him to be very good. After having three top quality centre backs you can't expect your cover to also be top quality, because a top quality player would not settle for being cover for Bolton Wanderers. However we also have the kid Fojut, I've not seen him play much but I have heard good things about him and i'm sure he could act as cover for a short period of time whilst 2 of the other 3 is out. And then if you really are struggling you have Campo, who even though scares the shi t out of me when he plays at centre back, he has done so for Real Madrid and so could also act as cover. If Jaidi does go then I don't think we are so short at the back then some people seem to think we are, but 1 more defensive signing would take away any doubt.
  12. According to the Daily Mail we have had a 2 mil bid rejected. If it's true then it shows that we believe that we can sign him and for once we have the money to put in reasonable bids and then raise them if need be.
  13. still got a good 3 or 4 years in him i reckon... probably, couldn't believe he were so old after seeing him in the World Cup how can a centre half be 5'8" as well!! Madrid are going to be back to their best I reckon next season Because he can almost double his height when he jumps.
  14. Why is it that when ever we are reported to be after someone its headline includes the word duo. You hardly ever see a headline saying "Bolton chase...." It pisses me right off.
  15. Ah well. Just means a later night in London. Can't wait! :D/
  16. I hope that Watford do stay up next season. I can think of a lot of teams that I would prefer to see go down. However when I travelled down to Vicarage Road on that cold January day I saw one of the worst performances ever. We battered you with a reserve side and then took the piss out of you by bringing on a youth team goalkeeper gor a good 5 minutes. I'm guessing that that wasn't your strongest team out and as you said the FA cup wasn't your priority, but still, you will have to improve a hell of a lot to stay in this league. But I do think that you have a manager that can do it, so good luck! Was you on the same minibus as moi? I was on a BWFC travel coach, not sure which one though.

So much that I wanted to say has already been said in this thread. I agree with every single good point said about jay jay. HE IS A BWFC LEGEND! This thread was supposed to be about remembering a class player, and all the good things and good times that he brought the club. However a top class tw??t had to try and ruin it. NATASHA!! At first I thought she made the forum a bit more fun then she got boring and now I can't bare to read the sh1t that she posts. From the things that she writes about BWFC there is no way that she is a fan. Please would someone block her and make this forum a lot better. [-o< [-o<
  20. Bring him back, and sub him on just for a free-kick, let him scream one in and then sub him back off again.
  21. The guys a quality player and a real nice guy. I know him and you would have thought that after being left on the bench nearly all last season and not being given a chance he would be moaning and wanting out. He doesn't he says that he is Boltons #1 fan because he sits and watches every game and he wants to prove how good he is to the premiership. He should be given a decent run in the side in a position and a formation that he is comfortable in, i.e 1 of 2 strikers in a 4-4-2, and then Sam can decide whether he is good enough or not!
  22. http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=40...yes+Bolton+move Just seen this on Sky Sports website. It's looking quite promising and there is also a bit at the bottom which says that Argentinian guy wants to come to England. With Miete signed and Fortune as good as, our transfer periods starting to look up. :D/
  23. correct in the past, the players we've needed to make our sqaud better we're easier to get hold of 5 years ago we were able to attract a 33 yr old Djorkaeff to the club these days with the club having to move forward and being much stronger than it once was, we're after the better quality which generally means 5/10 years younger, and the competition is stiffer another season in Europe would help, as would more money if we had more money we could make bid for players who may not otherwise have been available - as it is, we have to wait for the top quality to become available, and when they do, we're obviously going to face competition people say it's a lack of ambition that's holding us back, i disagree, if we lacked ambition we'd be able to still bring in enough faces to make up a squad (such as going in for Hasselbaink for example), as it is, our ambition is meaning sam wants to raise his sights (Saviola) and as such, we're more likely to miss out on players, because the options open to these players mean we're often the least attractive until we get more transfer funds and european football under our belts on a regular basis, this will continue to be the case, but we won't get that without better players - catch 22 really

I would hardly call Roberts and Jeffers "flying in the transfer market". Also they have just lost their top player and so probably have a worse squad than last season.
