It's not too bad now, but Sluffy to go if it ever gets to the Anelka - stay or go stage.

If united don't get back a few players they won't have enough to make a team. -

Nope, he's only on loan, but I suppose he'll get it hard to break into Arsenal first team. Could be the same situation with Stokes though, where wenger might let him go for a few million. Would definitely be worth that, I've seen a few of his goals, and he's doing well considering he's been injured for a lot of the season. -
"But Wanderers face a battle to keep hold of England Youth team player Kyle Bartley. The highly-rated 16-year-old has been with Wanderers since the age of 10, but is rumoured to be on the verge of joining Arsenal." Anyone know anything about him? http://www.thisislancashire.co.uk/sport/sp...e_to_bolton.php

It's an investment, he's hardly likely to go down in value. -

Bendtner, definitely, but again, they probably won't let him go. Bit of ambition is what we need, hence: -
Get rid of the reserve and academy teams just in case they produce the next Nicky Hunt.

Who Would You Like To See In A Bolton Shirt Next Season

In no particular order: Matty Taylor - yes, but they'll never let him go for his goals this season Fabrizio Miccoli - yes, and shouldn't be too hard to get either, Juve were supposedly offering him to us earlier in the season David Suazo - Unfortunately Massimo Cellino, the owner of Cagliari was asking for a minimum of ?30 million - from wikipedia, so, eh no Bakari Kone - Chris Commons - The next Andy Reid, good goal at weekend and might step up, but a bit of a risk - no Danny Murphy - out of action for too long, and I doubt he'd be motivated to do anything or move anyway - no Yossi Benayoun - yes Jerome Rothen - thought i heard he was a bit past it - don't know enough Jimmy Bullard - started out great last season but injuries mean - no Wayne Routledge -pace merchant - no Charles Nzogbia - From what I see, he seems to be rated by Roeder so I doubt he'd be leaving Shunsuke Nakamura - Very good, but he just said he won't leave Celtic and he's not very physical so -no Daisuke Matsui - don't know Taye Taiwo - last I heard he was a highly rated youngster from Marseille or somewhere, so I don't he'll be cheap, don't know enough Alan Smith - Would be expensive, and can't really see where he'd fit in unless playing 4-4-2. Doesn't really score goals, and couldn't put him on the wing - no Darren Fletcher - maybe if got him for nothing Hameur Bouazza - not really talked about much, but he's very good, good overhead against man u. -definite yes Steve Savidan - don't know Jean Makoun - all I know is he's got a II in his name and he's a midfielder. Pretty sure I heard him linked with the elite clubs before so maybe out of reach. And some more Afro-French centre backs, obviously. -
At least give him a full season on loan to prove himself before he's let go for good. He should be told his positions is under threat too, then see how he does in the championship.
-
Reina was very dodgy at the start of the season, Cech was out for a while (although when he was in, he was undoubtedly the best) and Van der Saar has been fairly consistent up till recently.
-
Yep, obviously I am wrong, but being far far away from the Reebok means I don't see matches there I didn't watch it at all, I just picked it up wrong from what I'd read (when I saw that he replaced hunt I just thought it was a straight swap).

The "i Don't Want Manu To Win Anything" Thread.

I'm not trying to bait anyone, but anyone who thinks Chelsea are the better footballing side need their head checked. As well as that I'm not from Bolton so I wouldn't have the same resentment as most of the people on here. From my perspective United play well and Chelsea are the death of football. -

United play better football than Chelsea and their team cost less. I'm going for United for the title. Come on United! -
Sure why not aim for champions league, just beat everyone by about 10-0, Arsenal lose to everyone and we're there.

Unless he's on next to nothing, get rid. Like Joey Barton said about city, and I can't help but agree with him: "Bolton have not spent big either. I know they paid a lot of money for Nicolas Anelka but we paid a lot for Georgios Samaras. "You have to face facts. We have not brought quality in. One or two have done all right but not enough to take the team onto the next level. "We can't gamble on players who have scored six goals in six games in the Pontins League or in Belgium. "I know a lot of the supporters are umming and ahhing about whether to buy their season tickets. "They go out and work hard. It is a lot of money to buy a season ticket at our place and they are not getting value for money." The same could be said for us. We need quality and we can't depend on the likes of Lubo, Cid, Dzelmaldi etc. to provide it. If they work out well, then it's an advantage, but right now I'd say the positions that are not secure are both full backs, 1 centre back, the midfield 3 (although Teymourian should step up to make 1 of those his own, and hopefully nolan will be back) and right of the front 3
-
In an ideal world the team would be loyal to Bolton for good, and always trying to help the club progress, but unfortunately it's not like that. If he might stay, let him stay. He's proven quality, and it'd cost at least 4 or 5 million to get another young proven premiership centre back.
-
Heh, I'd agree with a lot of your point, I just haven't gotten into Doctor Who that much, but I will try.. I didn't mean TBH at right back, i thought it was Lubo there, but I might be wrong. Other than that, although I'd much prefer someone who contributes positively to the team and made us play better I'd have to say that if there was some donkey who happened to be our lucky charm and meant we'd win all our games if he player obviously I'd have him there.

Ladies and Gentleman, put your hands together for..... Cristiano Ronaldo http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/6582201.stm

1. 3 goals came down our right side....we were missing our regular right back...maybe he is nt that bad ?? All this means is that Hunt is better than an our of position debutante. Mostly anyone who's seen him can see Hunt is bad 2. TBH is a cock, if he is going at the end of the season i never want to see him in a white shirt ever again. If he's such a cock why do you only say "if he is going", would you take him back if he signed a big contract, cos it'd be wrong not to 3. If we take the last 5 minutes out of yesterdays game we would be talking about a great result A good result at best, unfortunately, this isn't how football works. You have to count the whole game. 4. We now need points out of either west ham or chelsea If Wigan beat west ham, and Sheffield beat Watford (both at home) West Ham will have nothing to play for. 5. if vaz te or henric had been on the bench they would have come on instead of thomson and done better jobs That's wishful thinking at best 6. i have not seen a bolton team collapse like that in recent years, maybe we were missing the captain ? Maybe we need a captain capable of playing well consistently, as well as motivating the team then? 7. doctor who was quite good I don't watch doctor who since they got rid of Billie 8. stopping drinking when i got home was a school boy error You're better off in the long run 9. our goal differnce will come back to haunt us. Maybe, I don't really have anything to say about this but I now feel like I have to respond to all the points 10. you get what you deserve in football we got fcuk all Same as above

Judging by the stats Pompey are getting played out of it.
-
I wasn't so optimistic, but looking at the fixture list i'd say Tottenham should get at least another 8 pts, Portsmouth only around 2, Bolton more than 4, Reading about 5, and Everton only 1. That would mean Tottenham 5th, Bolton 6th and Reading 7th. Of course this means that United and Chelsea both beat Everton.
