Has Nixon got any of his predictions right? Serious question.

Do what you do best Carlos - pick a fight with a fellow fan. Or take a day off. Don't really give a fuck which you choose to be honest.

According to Marc Iles, 2 years ago we had the same number of points as we do now, but from 29 rather than 28 games...and we missed out on goal difference. As discussed before though, that was a particularly low total required - 68 points. I'm the eternal optimist normally but I think one point from these last 2 games, the injuries and the tough away games to come means we'll have to settle for a title charge next season. Oh well.

That's what makes the game great still - its capacity to surprise. All those who can, get down and be a part of it. And bring your mates.
-
I sadly missed his Wigan debut but was hugely impressed yesterday. Lovely touch, two quick feet, great balance, head up, the confidence to take that free kick when other more experienced players wanted it...not been this excited about one of our own since I don't know when.
-
Another of the names who made us great gone, but not forgotten. Bolton born too. 4 goals in 5 England appearances. RIP Harold.
-
Bournemouth had 12 points after first 10 games. Win tonight and they'll have 54 from 28. We need to go on that kind of run to make it.
-
I'd say fans running on the pitch, loudly calling for PG's head and staying away in ever increasing numbers all played their part. As it goes, I didn't stay away, but I would have done if we'd kept the guy you were happy to see take us down for any longer.
-
I was. And the fans' obvious discontent was a factor in getting shut of the previous prick. The same prick you were happy to 'see it play out' with.
-
I'm not moaning, clown, just saying it would be good to fill the place. I do think he has the potential to be a really great manager...don't you?
-
But I don't accept it, Alf - the support is there, numbers wise, it's just dormant a lot of the time. There are lots of reasons why... I just wish we could galvanise it more of the time. I also fear that if we don't then potentially the best manager in my lifetime (with all due respect to Greaves, Rioch and Allardyce) could be off sooner than we'd like. He's said several times we're a big club with potential etc...well let's show him that we are - and sell 23k home tickets. It shouldn't be that difficult. So if you're undecided, or you have mates who call themselves fans but are planning to watch from their sofas then have a word with them or yourselves. NLSWA.
-
It'll be depressing if we can't sell more than 15k home tickets. This should be a sell-out. If you can't afford it then you can't afford it, but if you're sat on your arse watching it on telly rather than getting to the game - because you can't be arsed - can you really call yourself a fan? Discuss.

Incidentally, their website looks far more professional than ours (not difficult). The information on it may even be up to date and correct.

Allocation of 1600 lower tier and 1200 upper tier according to their website. I'd imagine they might sell most of those - they're still in with a decent shout of the play-offs.
-
So yeah, two years ago the 68 points that got Leicester in on goal difference was very low.
-
Just checked - you're right....last year 72 points was needed for 6th, 2011-12 it was 75, 2010-11 was 75, 2009-2010 was 70 and 2008-09 was 74. Going to take some effort to get another 40 plus points from 19 games.
-
2 points a game would give us 71 points, which should be enough...but as mentioned, we've a tough run-in. If only we'd got rid of DF half a dozen games sooner. Or not appointed him in the first place.
-
Think 24k might be a stretch for Sat, Gonzo...but disappointed if we don't get more than that on Weds... :-)
-
Narrow victory...getting us back in the groove again to book a 5th round place on Weds. Sadly, think we've left ourselves too much to do to make top 6 now, but let's give it a go. NL will demand nothing less.
-
Have they sold out of all other rows or something...?
-
Wasn't that when the hotel was being built so upper tier out of action?
-
Charlton had 3k for 6th round of Cup in 2000 - every other time we've played em they've never brought more than about 500. West Ham had that end, so 5k, in a crowd of 17k in the Cup in 2006.
-
Charlton outnumbered us? When? Nobody has outnumbered us since Burnden - back when we were shit - Sheffield Utd in 84 is one I remember.
-
Borgetti wasn't shabby either - just didn't get many games.

It's not about whining about not getting paid to turn up Casino...people on here will mostly be going I would imagine...it's about wanting to maximise the attendance. Clearly, with it being on telly, some will need tempting...if they didn't we'd be playing to 28k crowds every week. But as I say, NL is singlehandedly doing the tempting. I know loads who are planning to go who haven't been for ages. It only needs everyone who went to Anfield to bring 3 others and we've got a sell-out. That shouldn't be beyond us, should it?
