homer, you`ve put a lot into defending elmander recently and for the life of me i cant see why. for me elmander is bobbins. can you tell me what you think he does well? i know the price tag hangs heavy but hhe has to live with it and he isnt doing. several times today he messed up simple passes in a way that i would be embarressed about on a monday evening on horwich all weather. likewise last week against citeh. hes had 50 odd games and the stats say he isnt delivering and thats a fact whether he cost ?8 million or ?8- Wilshere
they stuck 2 men on Weiss on a few ocassions today and to be fair to him, its difficult for him getting chucked on in these circumstances. im as brassed off as the next bloke at the moment and im really struggling to try and be constructive in any way without being all snappy about things but i dont see the problem being Weiss. In the right situation he could be good for us but chucking him on for 10 minutes to chase matches isn`t the best idea. Everyones staring at him saying `go on then...do something...` like hes ronaldo rather than a promising kid and to take casinos original point, if i were wenger i`d be on the phone first thing monday morning to get wilshere back- Relegation
you`re not allowed to use that m word anymore or discuss the prevous regime as its counter productive. if we were allowed to say the m word and it wasnt counter productive i would say pass me that pipe you`re smoking and give us a drag as it must be pretty strong stuff if you are STILL blaming he who shall not be named. the team is more than good enough if they can operate as a team but theyre not doing and the blame only lies with one bloke and his name doesnt begin with m. today was poor, last week was poor, the week before was poor. wheres the injection of optimism and enthusiasm a new manager brings? 1st half against arsenal? was that it?- Time Machine Back To A Game
a less obvious one but a great memory christmas match at grimsby away when they were top of the league and bang in form, place was packed to the rafters, they were unbeaten at home for 300yrs and we nicked `em one nil. think it was a scott green goal. jingle bells...jingle bells..etc- Spurs v Wanderers FAC5 replay
davies had a great game, defo worth MOTM for me, he worked his rocks off, took his goal superbly well with a superb first touch. statistically i think we are better with than without him?? elmander? couldn`t disagree more. his passing and shooting were absolutely abysmal. he made one good pass in the 2nd half when he slipped the ball in from the touch line. apart from that he was bilge. he had several good opportunities including one effort where despite being on his own he managaed to push himself out too wide and then balloon the ball 80 yards wide and 60 yards above the goal. He also made a terrible hash of a 10 yard pass to CYL who would have been clean through. NOT GOOD ENOUGH- Rub Of The Green
and we get battered every game. you get fuck all for nice passes in the middle of the park. we are sadly lacking someone with a cutting edge. elmander (megson signing i know!) is absolutely FUCKING SHIT. Please someone tell me what his strength is? He can`t pass, tackle, shoot, he isnt particularly fast or tenacious, he doesn`t hold the ball up and he hasn`t even got any bollocks. he got in a tangle with one of the shitty players and went out of his way to apologise and pick him up. what he should have done was to send the bastard flying into row Z not dust him down and pat him on the fucking arse. I`m really not prone to emotional outbursts but fuck me its shite, theres people in that squad who should be ashamed to pick up their wages ARGGGGHHHHHH- Rub Of The Green
franny lee once said (just before he sacked his own nephew) `you can only keep blaming bad luck for so long`. and he was right, its got fuck all to do with luck and everything to do with another toothless performance. it really is clutching at straws to start micro-analysing decisions. yes we should have had a penalty against citeh but we hardly had an effort of any note for the whole match. truth is they beat us without getting out of 1st gear. we`re poor, we really are. i never thought we would go down this year, i really didnt but in light of recent events of the last month or so i`m beginning to wonder. sammy lee anyone?- Drum Wankers
eyes right, 4skins tight i sat right next to them drummers the other week, it was shocking. how anyone can sit there week in week out and not want to twot `em one is beyond me. dum da dum dum, dum da dum dum dum, dum da dum dum dum, ARRRGGHHHHHHHHHH- Home Shirt
all sold out- Liverpool 2 Wanderers 0
when I asked if we were going to pass our way down I was actually saying that a bit tongue in cheek like, meaning that unfortunately you get rock all for having a good go, looking promising and then giving away soft shit goals and collapsing like a pack of cards. i mean what the feck were our 2 central defenders doing hugging the far post leaving someone to trot in completely unmarked to tap into a near open goal? it is indeed early doors and OC may be the man but as soon as liverpool scored it was game over and thats not very good. i bet the kit man didnt even need to wash the scouse shirts- Liverpool 2 Wanderers 0
are we about to pass our way back to the championship with fighting displays full of courage and 1 player with attacking flair and no points? we held our own and lost 2-0 and theyve been on a SHIT run of form- Liverpool 2 Wanderers 0
are we about to pass our way back to the championship with fighting displays full of courage and attacking flair and no points?- Arsenal 4 Wanderers 2
So in summary we played great and got battered? Is that the way forward?- New Song For Owen Coyle
Surely that spells Owen?- Allardyce Out!
well its hardly bullshit is it. i didnt mention it because we are talking about how things werent always rosy under FSA and the similarities to the situation he finds himself in at jackburn. if we`d lost the first leg 2-0 then we may well not have spunked all over them at all.- Allardyce Out!
funny how the memory plays tricks! he arrived in october and was given a muted reception to say the least. it was a mid week match against crewe I think and it finished as a draw. there were no cheers that night. in that first season we scraped into the play offs and thus had to live thru barryknightgate. yes we got to 2 cup semi finals but i remember leaving tranmere after they thumped us big style (4-0?)and thinking what a faceless bunch of jonny foreigners he`d assembled. there was certainly no sign of what was to come at that point. in his second season we got in the play off final and beat PNE but not after getting past WBA by the skin of our teeth after being 2-0 down where his substitutions were roundly booed. He took off our leading goal scorer and best defender to shore up the midfield which at the time seemed like lunacy but we hung on at 2-1 and nicked a last minute equaliser. the rest is history!- Allardyce Out!
he`s only been there for 12 months ffs! it took him longer than that to get us going. he could do a job there given time.......actually....... that reminds me of someone else...........- Open Letter To Owen
apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, I did have a look and can`t see it anywhere. the articles not too bad, bit bitter perhaps but thats to be expected from our neighbours from the back of beyond Its worth trawling through all the comments just to read what a sad and deluded bunch of people there are who consider themselves `knowledgeable` fans Open letter to Owen nutters!- A Lesson For Our Ticket Office

no no no...more like 33% i would say depending on which one of the 3 people you speak to, although speaking to someone who sounds like a goon has a 100% success rate. I blame Jack Dee`s recorded message. 42% of people say he`s not cheerful enough and the other 58% couldnt give a fuck- Will Coyle Succeed?
i know we`re all banging ths same old drums here but the trouble is that people say things like `I`ll be happy if we stay up` but it fails to register in their pea brains that `staying up` involves losing more than half your games. what they really mean is they would be happy to stay up if it meant our monthly cycle was winning convincingly once a month, scraping a good draw against a good team and perhaps narrowly losing with a plucky attacking performance in the other matches which is a load of BOLLOCKS! god! im turning into a grumpy old man, whers ma pipe n slippers- Is Coyle The New Brown
things that sum this thread up 1) the title - substitute OC for PB 2 yrs ago all the way through this thread . 2) This quote Hughes record at Blackburn was no great shakes and his style of play was turd. You could argue he was playing brag with a 2,3,5 hand but what of his City performance? Again you can say he didnt get the chance so he`s my rational if not favourite choice. Maybe OC will be the man and hopefully he will do it. I for one was very unsure when FSA got the job. I remember the luke warm reception he got so who knows!? At least its generated some (temporary) interest - Rovers 3 Wanderers 0
