Think it was an automatic reaction. He was just thinking that Santos would sweep up behind him.

Transfer Gossip
Would have liked to have seen some signings. But I suppose we can’t underestimate the cost of getting shut of Evatt and his minions.

I always thought Williams needed a damn good wash

Think he played for Stoke in January so can’t be done

It’s early days yet but Randall is a funny one. Works hard, decent on the ball but doesn’t half waste some promising positions. I think Macatee would have finished at least two of the chances he has wasted over the last couple of games.

Northampton Town (H)
Julian has always been a bright lad. Not much time to prepare so keep it simple, soak it up and hit them on the break. Last three games Collins has worked hard and has been excellent. What is remarkable is the amount of good players on the sidelines. Season not over yet.

Huddersfield Town (A)
Back to Hudders did anyone notice that for corners against we always had a man in the semi circle blocking off shots . Mainly Morley.

Gassed on the way down by the Zulus and a very long train journey home. The things you do.

Randall could have had a hat trick

Next Manager
Stoke mate just texted saying he did a decent job there and none of the fans thought he should have gone

His first touch is also very good forgot to mention that

Cogley is very fit and has a great engine. His final ball is poor, his crossing in particular is very poor, which in effect makes him a better option at full back rather than being played as a wing back. In essence you are right we have had a lot worse than him.

Next Manager
I wonder if the players are as relieved as much as we are. My last memory of him is walking off the pitch thinking he was going to be involved in an altercation with another opposition player. I can't say I know anything about the qualities of the managers already suggested. However, it would be great to have someone who is calm, resolute and willing to admit or learn from their mistakes.

Santos
I understand his qualities but it is time for him to move on. I'm just guessing but I think he feels the same.

Cambridge United (H)
I know one man shouldn’t make a difference but with Santos off I thought we showed more urgency. The second half showed some green shoots of recovery especially in attitude and attempting to change the game. Just my opinion like.

Transfer Gossip
I suppose Charles was our one forward with pace. But let us see who comes in. Ultimately I think the defence is our main worry, some of our centre halves are just not up to it. Santos is our best defender but his mistakes/lack of judgment are now more frequent. i understand there is a lot of pressure on him but he would benefit from having better players around him. Is Forino due to return any time soon? I believe Toal is on his way back, we have missed his determination and pace.

Wrexham (A) - EFL Trophy
Like Southwood in goal, a better sweeper than Baxter, defence a disaster, some of our midfield play is so naive.

Rotherham United (A)
The players don't want to play for him, it's obvious. Maybe they liked the other coach and don't like this one. I don't know but it isn't going to be solved by calling them out. How does Sharon think this is going to be resolved? It is dire.

Transfers to move the needle?
Do we think Santos may be off. If so where?

Evatt out
When he first came to the club I thought he was a track suite manager. I may be wrong here but his role appears to have changed to almost a general manager. As if to say this is my philosophy now find me the players and coaches to implement it. Maybe that is why a new coach was introduced and Evatt was not disposed of. If the club has improved financially within his reign then this maybe another reason why he remains in post. One thing is for sure that we are not the team we were twelve months ago. The goal conceded yesterday was abysmal but the reactions of Forrester, Collins and Macatee after the final whistle made me think that there is a team in there somewhere.
