Agree one of the three will go. Although Thomason could be a good shout for playing on the left.
-
I suppose Schon should be judged on the quality of his crossing when he has a centre forward to aim at. Love the comments on past wingers, add Willy Morgan to that list. Also on the other side to Diddsy was Paddy, he didn't beat a man often, but worked hard and had a cracking left peg on him, also at the time none of this inverted shite.

To put things in perspective. It took Sheffield United almost six years to get out of this league, it is not impossible this year but difficult, hopefully he can build a similar side to Plymouth and get us out as quickly as possible. Signings thus far are very encouraging, obviously we need more and I think there will be.
-
George’s downfall last year was that his long range passing coupled with the timing of his pass was really off, when compared to previous seasons. Mind you there was no pace up front to aim at. Fitness and attitude cannot be questioned. Although,as with Josh if an offer comes in. SS will consider it as he wants to wheel and deal and stamp his playing style on team.

to compare Sheehan to Warren Joyce is astonishing. Joyce was a better cricketer than a footballer and he wasn't great at that. Sheehan is an international footballer ffs
-
You are probably right, but his little turns and passes in front of our defence seem to be of little value and flatter to deceive. Further up the pitch is a different matter.
-
I think the problem with Sheehan is where Evatt was playing him, that is mainly as a defensive midfielder, IMHO he seems more of a number 10 than any of the expensive dross Evatt signed.

We shall see indeed. Although there was an announcement about having a reduced squad with B team and youth players playing more of a part in proceedings.

Yes Forrester really wants to win and shows great commitment, although I have a feeling that Inwood will play a greater part than we all think, he looked really good in the first team. There will probably some players who will leave where we can't understand why, but SS seems to want to clear the decks and instil his own philosophy on the team, which seems to be based around pace, power and strength, something which we have been sadly lacking.

Looks like some of them will be disappearing for good. The Hull full back looks like the next one in.
-
This Dalby geezer looks more like a Phillipskirk type. He did very well for us in this league.
-
Brought a different level of fitness to lower leagues refereeing. Went on yo be one of the best.
-
He will be playing with better defenders too, often he literally was the last line of defence.
-
No criticism intended but it seems a lot of background folk for the league we are in.
-
Are under 21 players counted in squad numbers?
-
He’s neither a forward or a midfielder, come to think it he’s not a number 10 either. He could try being a defender, but he’s probably not one of those too.
-
Agree with this, there is a player there, but if McAtee does not improve his basic hold up play, heading and aggression, for example the Barnsley version of McAtee, he will be out.
-
As for players not required but still in contract, they need to look at the Coleman example. He was told he wouldn't play, he didn't, presumably on a basic wage and now released. It is interesting to see what will happen to the likes of Macatee, will the manager school him in the basics and insist his little flicks and wonder balls can only be brought out when we are 3 nil up? Or just not pick him.
-
We all know that the team lacks speed, physicality and some players with a winning attitude. But I find it hard to believe that an under 18 player is chosen, as he can get his body in front of the defender, control it and lay it off. Basic stuff. First teamers must be aware of this and have the professionalism to take note. Players like Macatee would have been doing these basics for years. Is it a too simple to ask him to practise this in training and bring it on the pitch? The same for Lolos, Vic or even Dan. The same with heading, is it also too much to ask for midfielders or defenders to pass the ball chest high if they can't win or unable/unwilling to jump for a header? We saw some really bad players in the 80's but I think most of them could do the basics most of the time. I cannot accept that the players mentioned above and some more are in the category of the complete tripe we saw under Managers such as Wright and Neal, the same for onion man and others.
-
Lots to agree with here, steel and craft in the midfield for example Blackpool's number 7, someone who can break the flow when under the cosh, also Blackpool's forward line was better than ours. I suppose between us all we have been watching football a long time, but it I still struggle to understand how we can dominate a game and still lose, it happens so often to us.
-
Agree with everything said, Morley was man of the match for me, but there were so many contenders. Another thing is how hard Collins is working, he is literally sprinting to get into the box. His finish was pure class, he is the best striker we have had for a long time. Don't want to jinx it but how would it affect the table if we won every remaining game!
-
Crewe fans i know really like him. A shame if he didn’t get a chance with us. But as you say he won’t.
-
We are looking a lot better, better attitude and well organised. Would like to see our defenders keep tighter on the forwards. Also some of our players need to be stronger and improve upon their physicality. Thought they targeted Sheehan yesterday, stopped him from playing, most of the time by fouling him. Ref wasn’t wise to it though.
