Reading (H)
Think Schon is getting some underserved stick, showed attacking intent in a couple of games, particularly yesterday, in previous games he has been pushed back to mostly defend. Works hard, new to the English game, it always takes time for a European player to settle both in a game and the home environment. Seems a character. Great result, back three being put under pressure, they need to be 20 meters up the field, they are defending way to deep. Nice to see Vic playing well too.

New Poll - Evatt
Some important matches we have had terrible results Oxford was a pisser Club from top to bottom not over it Evatt does not seem right, he has had his ingrained philosophies put to the sword Again Evatt seems to be having trouble with this Team organisation particularly set pieces have gone to pot Evatt is on borrowed time especially rumours of gambling and dic pics etc Don't think there is a player relationship problem with him, they all seem to like him Ultimately Sharon's call but it isn'yt looking great for him

Huddersfield Town (H)
I wasn't looking forward to this game this week. Not had this feeling for a long time. System has been sussed. Press, harry, compress the wings, wait for the mistake and attack. We need to grind out a result somewhere, a boring draw perhaps. Invite the opposition to attack and to see if we can press and counter attack them. Systems out the window and choose an eleven to battle like hell. Managers like Greaves, Allardyce and Rioch were masters at this. Also, crossing and set pieces are dire lets start from there.

Charlton Athletic (A)
was thinking before the game that at Charlton with that lovely wide pitch that suites our natural game and we always play well there. I didn't post as I also thought that we are trying a different system and we can't have it all ways. The personnel in midfield is too light in numbers or does not either have the right balance or type of player, this is not a criticism of any player's skill sets. It is just obvious. I fell sorry for Santos, still captain, issues with form and fitness, teams know now to press high and just wait for the error. Santos seems to be pivotal in the way we play and dropping him is a massive call and could have a more detrimental effect. But good managers/teams find a way to change and win games. It isn't any easy one that is for sure but a starting point could be a new captain, there are some good options!

Wrexham (H)
In the cold light of day, two games per week, the league we are in and the winter weather setting in. Matete will replace Sheehan, unless we can find Sheehan a more creative advanced role.

Think we would get double that now.

Who is better in the squad and also in the division. It is definitely not Sheehan but will listen to suggestions from other teams.

I think the forwards need to relax a little bit, they are very eager to please. Collins's first touch last year was sublime, this season it is not as good. Macatee is finding his feet (as Collins did last year), Vic's all round game has improved and we all know Dion's weaknesses but he also has a positives too. As said above defence looked solid and we probably have the best keeper in the league. Also, George is arguably now the best midfielder in the division, I liked the way Toal and the Johnson supplemented the midfield but still remain unconvinced about Sheehan's effectiveness in his current role. There is still stuff to work in but only tweaks and not wholesale changes.

think the ref's response to overly strong tackles in the first 15 mins will be a telling factor

don't want to jinx it, but that is a strong team with a strong bench to boot

If we are including Frank then we have to include Gowling.

If we can afford to keep all 4 main forwards and keep them happy to be rotated, we are going to score some goals this season.

Forgot about him. I hope George smashes him.

He also said in the same interview, that his favourite pre-match meal was rice pudding.

Fell very sad about this. He very rarely lost the ball, worked hard and was extremely fit. Would have fitted in well with the modern game. We spent money on Cantello and Mcnab to replace him, but they couldn't shift him. Was player /manager at St Thomas at Halliwell for a while, made everyone feel welcome. A credit to the club.

Good win playing under pressure. Imagine the reaction if we had lost. Like Macatee made a real difference. Sometimes you need to roll your sleeves up and take the luck that comes your way. As said before Sheehan will struggle with the new system most especially away.
