I've always fancied having a 'summer house' at the bottom of the garden - a bit of a games area really, dart board, pool table, plasma screen tv with sky, well stocked bar etc - somewhere to chill out with a few of the boys for super sunday football
I couldn't give a toss who wins, football has finished until our pre-season game at Accy as far as i'm concerned.
Germany and Spain are the 2 best sides in the Euros though so 3-0 to Germany
We have to get kids learning the game on smaller pitches, with smaller footballs until they are of an age to move on to bigger. We also need to stop the mentality of 'we'll stick that big lad at the back or up front'. Some of the best kids are tiny but don't get a chance because they seem too small.
We also need to place the emphasis on technique and not running round like an idiot for fun. Oh and yes, we need better facilities - some of the bogs kids have to play on are woeful
This.
TBH, I would watch Bolton whichever league we are in no matter how shit the opposition are. Some of my best days down the years watching us were playing tinpot clubs
I reckon we'll win 3-1 tonight, nice and comfortable. We need to win the group because i'm flying to Vegas next wednesday and don't want to miss out on watching the semi final - I expect us to make the semi's before losing to the Germans again
Had some great England away days, some of the best:- Rome 1997, beating Germany 5-1 and the jocks 2-0 at hampden. I also enjoyed Belfast when we got beat 1-0 too.
Worst was Moscow, missed my flight home, cost me ?600 to get back. Dump of a place too
I was at the game in the early 80's, don't remember too much about it other than thinking John McGovern only has young kids at his disposal - all the old players had gone. I think it was McGovern's first game too as player/manager
I remember the majority of these games being talked about but didn't go to any of them. I think the away games i've been to with fewest away fans were probably Gillingham in the 4th division, late 1-0 win I think and Southend also midweek when we won 2-0, scored a 1st minute goal to set us on our way
I genuinely was there, seem to remember wishing i'd gone to a bonfire. Talking of bonfire night - it was also 5th November we got stuffed at Stockport too, the day Robert Maxwell jumped overboard!.
Bonfire night games should be banned for us
