  1. Ran them ragged from the second minute. Looking far superior so far.
  2. Pretty surprised at how confident they are. I'd be very surprised to see this Bolton side capitulate like the previous sides did. Beaten on the opening day, I thought we deserved better and then unbeaten since, not looking like conceding many goals. I could be wrong but it isn't season defining either way.
  3. Wearing a Matchwinner replica yellow shirt (early 90s era), hoping for a similar result from when Kelly et al turned them over at Springfield Park wearing it. COYWM.
  4. I'd love to see us win the FA Cup but being Champions, for me, is the ultimate. I know we never will be Champions but it's unlikely we'll ever win one of the 3 major honours, with the 2 League Cup finals the best chances we have had in my lifetime, very happy to have been at those though. The Middlesbrough game still stings as I felt we would win that.
  5. It's getting closer to the sort of nonsense they have over here. Nobody gives a shit who wins the league (the minor premiership), the real prize goes to the winner of the Grand Final tournament played out by the top 8. You can finish first and then end up losing to the eighth place team and they are then considered the best team. Absolute bollocks. I've had to try to explain how winning the league in England is the highest prize, they were under the impression it was winning of the FA Cup, baffling.
  6. ? George Johnston wasn't a youth team product.
  7. Steve Guppy
  8. @tomski and there it is
  9. Best not to interact and he'll go back to talking to himself with his 2 accounts.
  10. Really enjoyed listening to Holden, if I recall correctly he was one of the top performing midfield players in the Premier League before the 'incident'. Hearing what he went through to try and get back was heartbreaking and I'll never forgive that twat Evans, if I ever see him in Perth I'll push him into traffic. He clearly loves Coyle but was realistic enough to say he couldn't find a way to stop the rot when it turned. SJM is correct in saying Holden is part of the fabric of the club and will always be welcome in Bolton. I found the fact that he still calls the stadium 'The Reebok' and that he was considering asking Schumacher for a substitute place both hugely endearing. On topic I've no strong feelings either way on Derrick Clarke.
  11. He scored the equaliser and the winner in a game that brought the club millions of pounds, spectacular return on investment. Seem to remember he played a game against Swindon(?) earlier in the season when I thought he looked unplayable, ripped them apart. Didn't score many in the season but that Wembley performance more than pays back the outlay.
  12. That's a penalty
  13. Never a foul and then that should have been a red card, threw the keeper into the hoardings
  14. Signed up for Bein Sports for a month for this, I deserve a Zico 5-0 special.
  15. Haha fuck you.
  16. Remember playing golf one Saturday afternoon and as we got into the bar for a post round pint the headline on Sky Sports was "Leaders held at Elland Road", found that hilarious at the time
  17. That's the one. Thought it was an excellent way to pass a couple of hours and have recommended it to my Dad. Was surprised that Schumacher captained England in a couple of age groups, then never really had a playing you'd expect of such a prospect.
  18. 😅😂🤣
  19. At least there are some folk who remember the rules
  20. And to add context to Allardyce at this level, he won this division with Notts County and had a win percentage that season of 63%
  21. Son of a greengrocer, Lineker is working class, he was just very successful at his job.
  22. Yates taking the pink jersey and the way he did it was unbelievable. Truly amazing stuff.
  23. Remember my Granddad telling me the same. He hated them from that day on. I'm in the hated them with a burning passion when I was a younger man, just amused by their bad form now. I always put this down to moving to Australia and not dealing with it on the daily but you seem to be keeping the feeling. When they were winning everything they had a hateable manager and many players that made me apoplectic at the mere sight of them plus that twat Eamon Holmes talking about them every bastard morning on the tele. Now I couldn't pick the manager out of a line up and doubt I could name more than half of the first team.
  24. Actually intake that back. The coverage on the ABC was embarrassing this morning, extended coverage of Big Ange and his all conquering Spurs side and their open top bus parade.
  25. Just watching that now, one of my all time favourite players, absolutely love the guy. True legend.
