Bit weird quoting a death threat which should never have happened. A tweet which will rightly get the lad who tweeted it banned from games. I’m glad we won, always want us to win games but it was boring as sin.

88mins of turgid football. He should go and any wanderers fan before 88 will have been saying the same. Today should be a great feeling, 2 late goals but I’m the most disengaged with wanderers games now than I have ever been. It’s boring from start to finish

I remember managers gone by that when it went bad, it turned toxic. This feels a lot different, fans have just given up. A few boos from the Nat Lofthouse Stand but that was it when the 2nd hit the back of the net, most just left. The attendance figure of 22k was miles off, lucky if there was 15-16k on today. The board have made their intentions clear that he’s here to stay, I don’t think the fans will be forgiving and flock back when they finally make the change. When will they call time on his tenure, is anyone’s guess but the fact they haven’t done it yet and there are clearly things going on in the background, makes me think they never will and he may be here come the start of next season and see out his contract which is a frightening prospect.
  4. One of the things I find baffling is his persistence with Victor. He has an array of strikers in Charles that can score 20 goals a season, Collins who was L1 player of the year a couple of years ago and looked great last season. He has bought in McAtee who had 17 goal involvements for Barnsley last season but yet Victor starts. Victor currently has 3 less goals/assists than N’lundulu this season and I think we can all agree Dan isn’t good enough. Seen loads of wanderers fans saying McAtee isn’t good enough, yet he’s playing in midfield when he’s a striker. Let’s play Baxter at LWB and see how he gets on.
  5. It was a weird feeling today, I’ve gone past anger with Evatt, I’m just bored of it all. His football, his style and him. I won’t stop going, I didn’t through the freedman era, who I still class as our worst ever manager and I won’t now but good grief this is starting to feel worse than when freedman was in charge. It’s stale, everything is stale from top to bottom. There is clearly an issue about giving Evatt the chop, because no board of any company can justify this current road that we are taking. His interview with Dearden sums him up for me, his arrogance and egotistical manner shone through for all to see. He won’t get sacked as the board clearly have an agenda that the fans aren’t aware of and he won’t walk as he needs the money from the pay off. We as a club are stuck in an endless cycle and when it ends is anyone’s guess
  6. I’m the complete opposite here. I just want to see the wanderers win games. I don’t care for the Russell Martin handbook that says we will play tippy tappy football no matter the result. If we play good football in the process of winning football matches then great but at the same time, I’m just as happy seeing us face 25 shots but coming away with a 1-0 win. All I want is too see us win games and I’m pretty sure that’s what most wanderers fans want
  7. I agree he’s capable of changing things but only like for like and on 70mins
  8. Embarrassing. That’s the only word that can sum it up. Fear for the kitman or any coach that isn’t Evatt’s bum chum as they will be gone by tomorrow morning.
  9. He should have gone after Oxford. The board should have made that decision. They didn’t and this season is over by the middle of September. I suspect he will still be in post until at least the next international break as the board will try to justify their decision not to part ways in the summer as he enters a favourable run of fixtures. Hopefully I’m wrong and a new manager is installed and gets the favourable run of fixtures to get some confidence back into the team
  10. I find it incredible that people end up with the excuse not to sack him is because no one is out there better than him. Bollocks. There’s plenty of managers better than Evatt that would jump at the chance of managing us. Everyone in the fanbase knows this squad is good enough to go up, a manager with some nous will get us out this division with this squad. For what it’s worth, my choice of replacement would be Alex Neil. He’s got plenty of experience and knows how to get out of this division and the one above.
  11. The board now need to show some backbone that they failed to show in the summer and get rid of him. He’s been backed more than most managers and we haven’t played well once this season. He had to start this season like a train to make up for the shambles that ended last year but we haven’t. 12 wins in 36 for a promotion hunting team isn’t good enough. We thoroughly deserve what we got today. Nothing. There is no plan, no tactics and no desire to win. The ownership replicated the cowardliness that was shown on the field by leaving well before 80 mins as they didn’t want to hear the fans that stayed to the end to voice their opinions. The club is so devoid of leadership at the moment from the board, to the manager through to the captain. Some fans have turned IE into this so called messiah that we should feel lucky to have. We are a club that has a huge pull and replacing IE won’t be a problem. The average losses of teams promoted automatically over the last 5 years is 7. We are already on 2 after 4 games. Sack him now and save us from an abject season of mediocrity.
  12. Go for me He has had 3 cracks at it and ultimately we are in the same position, still sat in league 1. If he was going to learn, we would have at least seen some deviation away from his usual set up in games this season but we haven’t. As previously mentioned, an IE team isn’t going to be taking too many points off teams managed by the likes of Duff, Evans, Rowett and to an extent Parkinson with their physical and well drilled set ups and we have already handed 6 points to Wigan before the season starts. Alex Neill would be my first choice and have championed his name for a while as Evatt’s successor. Proven track record in this division and the one above.

On the train back now after a performance that was all too recognisable this season contrary to IEs beliefs. Yesterday showed us at our very worst, no fight, no drive and no ideas. Every single player went missing and the subs were bewildering. More often or not this team has proved they don’t have the mentality to win the games that matter and that can only change with a change in management. Santos isn’t a captain and if he is still here next season, then the captaincy should be taken away from him. His constant pointing at others when he’s in the wrong is baffling. We at times this season have been great to watch but this constant inconsistency when we come up against a team with a proper game plan just highlights how weak our tactics are and how we struggle to adjust in game to overcome it. IE has reached his ceiling with us and it’s time for a change.
  14. In my opinion IE was just shifting the blame onto the players with his comment about the corner routine. If he has had that discussion pre match with the players, how come even after they scored that goal, no one was picking up the attackers on the outside of the box. Surely if it had been discussed and was a mistake from the players point of view, then the player in the same position is picked up on the next corner which didn’t happen.

I partially agree with the comment in which league goals carry more meaning but by the same token, JDB has started 9 league games whilst Victor has started 28. JDB has 4 league goals which is 0.44 league goals per start whilst Victor has 10 league goals which is 0.35 goals per start.

Apologies, I based my comment off twitter which I realise is a mistake

Good win today, just need to back it up next week and for the remaining 5 games. JDB’s performance today just shows how crazy it was starting Jerome over him on Friday. For all that a lot of fans have slagged him off this season, he’s into double figures this season and the same as fans favourite Adeboyejo.
  18. Don’t be stupid Only a reasonable minded human being would do that
  19. The midfield three watched it sail over their heads for the majority of the game after Santos had dawdled for a while on the ball before booting it long time and time again. Jerome was the man supposed to hold it up today as we know that’s not what Collins is about. He didn’t. That’s why Collins had to come deep as he was getting nothing from Jerome who was supposed to be holding it and feeding him
  20. How can the midfield 3 do that when it goes sailing over their heads from Santos and Toal. Only positive was Forrester wanted to play today and tried to go through the midfield
  21. Good grief How on earth is Collins dropping so deep the fault of the midfielders? He had to come deep because he was partnered with a cart horse that did feck all. Jerome couldn’t hold it when we went long which led to Collins coming short for it.
  22. My first shout would be Alex Neil, had experience of getting out of this division and also the one above. Next shout would be Mike Williamson at MK Dons who has done a great job there.
  23. One thing that has become ridiculously apparent over the past few weeks are the amount of fans that seem to think Evatt is bigger than the club and we should just be glad he is here. He’s above criticism in some peoples eyes. There are plenty of managers out there that would kill for this job and a lot that would no doubt do a better job
  24. 4 wins in 13 league games and 7 wins in 20 in all comps. This isn’t a bad spell, it’s past that. IE hasn’t got a clue when it comes to beating a well drilled and organised team. The football we are being served up is boring more than often and always looks like costing us like Santos nearly did today with his dawdling on the ball and sloppy pass, not the first time it’s happened this season as well. Anything but promotion was a failure this season and he has proved constantly he can’t get this team to perform in big games that’s why even finishing in the playoffs, we will be playing league 1 football next season Sooner he goes, sooner we can push on now
