  1. Have to wonder what Traff’s thinking these days. Money wise obviously a great move but is he doing his reputation any good at all? Not his fault playing behind a shit defence but….
  2. Blimey!! Mystic Undies now
  3. Sadly that’s the truth. Ref was awful, penalty debatable, but they weren’t the main reason we lost
  4. Good on him. His are no less valid than yours or vice versa. Entrenchment has no place and all should be heard and considered in my opinion. I agree and disagree with you and him in equal measure in all likelihood
  5. Bolty gives an opinion. As do you. Varying points on the spectrum which should all be considered and not dismissed. I thought that she was a vacuous waste of space as my local MP a while back. I’ve changed my mind. She’s twice the man Starmer is
  6. And I’ve never been at a game when we won weirdly enough
  7. My thinking as well. The home end of the ground
  8. Proper derby this. Inherited that feeling from my Dad who always saw them and Blackburn as our biggest rivals. He was at the 53 final and his bitterness towards Blackpool lasted to his dying day. I’d take a win tomorrow and a scabby point against Wigan any day. I’ve never actually seen us beat Blackpool home or away
  9. Just counted back. Had it for 36 days. Barely sleeping as I was coughing all night. Cleared up about a week ago but my sinuses are still full and sneezing and full of snot all day. Wasn’t Covid. Reckon I picked up RSV or summat similar
  10. Rarely comment on this thread and often don’t agree with NiC but I’m in complete agreement with this Labour will win the next GE. Absolutely no doubt in my mind and it’s desperately needed. They just need to not get involved in this sort of shit so that folk don’t take the opinion as stated by NiC and not bother voting because they just see all politicians as bent Cant say I’ve much confidence in Starmer but the bar is so low at the moment it’s horrific. I shall vote for my local Labour MP this time round, Angela Rayner, who I’ve done a complete 360 on. I was completely in Bolty’s camp regarding her a while back. Now I’d have more confidence in her than Starmer leading Labour. I think that she’d be a stronger leader. Just my opinion. No graphs or links to back it up…
  11. Ploughed through the first 6 of S1. Will see how it ends before I decide on S2. Fuck me it’s hard work Ha. Apocalypse Now. First time I watched it I gave up not far from the end. Watched Platoon, Hamburger Hill, Full Metal Jacket so went back to Apocalypse Now and prob watched it more than the others now. By far my favourite of them all
  12. Not done Lytham Festival before so having a go this year. Tickets for Saturday for Madness as can’t ever lose on them at a gig as always supreme. Mrs can get pissed and screech at Rick Astley. Hotel booked for Saturday night so might have a dabble on a sober Sunday and catch James and Johnny Marr
  13. That photo looks like Newport Street before pedestrianisation? Anyway, yeah UCP was on Bradshawgate (see then and now photos below) and Arthur Morris Tobacconists was a few doors down mate
  14. Did S1 Ep1 with Woody Harrelson the other night. Considered binning it off. Mrs reckons first two of each series are the slow burners and it gets better each time. I’ll persist
  15. NICE get a lot of criticism for decisions supposedly based on finance. Obviously they take cost effectiveness models into consideration but when you delve deep into their reports they do proper clinical due diligence. Unfortunately whilst some “treatments” may be nice given earlier/to a wider group of patients it doesn’t always make clinical or financial sense. They will put reimbursement in there as a way of ensuring that their guidelines are followed - with the caveat that I think that this is the case as I said above I will agree, however, that long-term planning is poor. There are many bodies that talk about it, many folk who want to do it, and folk who actually try to practice it. The NHS is a massive, unwieldy beast though and it’s not easy
  16. It’s the NICE Guidelines and I suspect JCVI recommendations so yes it’s NHS policy. I’d have to disappear down a massive rabbit hole to try to find out exactly why they decided on 1 year of age and can’t be arsed. NICE decision making is unbelievably complicated I think that if a child is vaccinated under 1 year of age, whoever the provider is won’t get reimbursement so that’s why only private providers would be willing. I think!!
  17. Really don’t know what to make of all that. First half looked like a load of strangers plonked together and sent out. Bonus of scoring first but too soon pegged back and then going in a half time behind. Seemed like second half they’d all been introduced to each other at half time and played some decent footy but we still had to scrape a draw. Summat’s got to seriously change, and soon. Happy clapper in me says don’t be surprised if we suddenly go on a run again. Lucky at the moment that others around keep failing to take advantage of our failings and we still control our destiny
  18. Good player but was always going to struggle to break into that Greaves team. Superb in that City game but never really did enough all told. Sad news
  19. Great story that @kent_white The recovery that is
  20. Ha were they The Hyde Park flats when I was there at uni in the ‘80s? Massive concrete monstrosity on a hill above that big roundabout. Fuck me you didn’t go anywhere near them. Ever. They were just like the ones in Hulme in Manc. Utterly lawless. Council did them up for the student athletic games mid/late 80s
