May 4, 20233 yr The motorways are full of potholes, use to be the best in Europe. The renewals budget was cut to pay for Smart/Managed motorways.

May 4, 20233 yr I spend a lot of time on motorways and can tell you with absolute certainty that the most dangerous, shitty, badly managed and ludicrous area in the country is NW Manchester. nowhere comes close for sheer dogshit. And I drive around Birmingham a lot.

May 4, 20233 yr As one of the most densely populated areas in the country, it's no wonder our motorways get worn out, and we then have the problem of less land being available for expansion. Seems as if they are on permanent road works.

Thats maybe the only reason I’m not a lumpy paste spread across the carriageway by now
May 4, 20233 yr Did you know Greater Manchester is the county which has the most motorway miles in the country. It also has the country’s only fully-orbital motorway.

Report it on this https://report.nationalhighways.co.uk

I give you the Aston Expressway in Brum, the Central Motorway in the Toon and the inner ring road in Leeds. All designed and built in the 70’s. By hippies obviously. Smoking summat. Thinking that cars travelled no faster than horses. Any road in a city that has (M) after it. They all make that section look easy and quick

Birmingham is a pain to get out of anytime after 3pm. Getting onto the m60 without some standing traffic is only possible at 03.47 on the 3rd Sunday of the month.

Aston, Newcastle, Leeds and the flyover in Manc are more about short distances between on and off slip roads Even better is Glasgow where at one point the off slip road is the outside lane ffs
May 4, 20233 yr London white will be on soon telling us to sacrifice our cars and ride hemp powered scooters for the good of the planet. He's (they've?) probably got a point when we discuss how fucked our road network is!
