bolton3 massive 0 gary jones hat trick i think. About 1969/70

eee I remember it well...well not so well I was only about 8 at the time.Am I correct in thinking that the 3rd goal was a penalty and as he was about to take it some guy ran on and knelt on the centre spot while he took it or was that another dream 8-[

The guy who ran on & kicked the ball away, used to live on the same street as mounts, round the corner from me. He also went to the same school as me & mounts.

toodle pip :D :D :D

i was told last week that it was g bradley, also was told about the time he pretended to pull a gun on a copper and got a prison sentence, amazing really as he his a decent family man now. although daft as a brush.

It wasn't Gaz, it was eddie conner. :-$ :-$ :-$

isaac vvvvvvitk.

Notts Count 75/76 season I Think

1st Away game Sheff Utd we won 5-1 or 5-0, Greavo scored a Pen, sat in the home end, crapping it as a 7 yr old.

That game was where I got my first good kicking! They weren't best pleased about the result i guess.

southampton in the cup 92. was a draw! we lost the replay!

cannot remember 1st home game but my 1st away game was 1975 just before christmas, went on my own on a supporters club coach to fulham, we won 2-1, i was 11 year old caught the 42 bus from toppings bridge, got of at burnden there was 2-300 people on the car park waiting for the coaches, i think it was ??2.75 for the trip, cannot remember how i got home after the game, my mum and dad must have been mad to let me go on my own.

ever thought they just wanted to get rid of you ???

First home game of the 57/58 season. Think it was Leeds.

Getting on for a half century Wanderer

1976 against Fulham, they had Bobby Moore, George Best and Rodney red ginger Marsh and we still dicked them 2-1, a super bullet header from Big Sam - 'Ave it !!!!!!

That was my first match but I thought it was 1973

Bobby Moore got sent off and the Fulham team walked off and refused to come back on

Can anybody confirm that I've not dreampt this......... Was in the Manny Rd too and it was a night match

Was this the game where Mike Walsh scored a beauty with a shot from near the touchline in front of the Burnden padock :-s

First home i can remember is the 3-3 against Newcastle in the mid 70s

First away was Blackpool at Christmas in 77/78/Queues the length of the pitch to get in,went in the home section of the main stand and was surrounded by Wanderers fans singing Jingle Bells. We won 2-0.

Second away game was Notts County that season.Once again long queues meant missing the start of the game.....missed their goal right at the start..but a Whatmore diving header got us a point.

Third away game was 0-3 at Anfield in 78/79....stood in the side terrace with the Scousers, watched the smoke bomb thrown from the away end, remeber the Kop singing W*nky Wanderers.Jimmy Case hat trick.

Can remember my first game in 1970 must have been that exciting, but I can remember Roger Hunt.

First game I can remember was Bournmouth at home August 1972 we won 3-0 and later that season became Champions of the old Division 3.

Oh Gary, Oh Gary Gary Jones, Oh Gary Jones Oh Gary Gary.

I think!

'79/'80 ManUre at home. Taken by my stepdad as a birthday present, I was 12 two days earlier... he was a dirty red, but later converted into a Wanderer.

We ended up losing 1-3 but I can still see Neil Whatmore scoring at the Lever End :D/ I went fooking bananas and it kicked off good style. We were sat in the Manny Rd stand and I'd never seen anything like it before in my life... the bug had bit

Yes it was on motd. British Rail used to have a special train called the Leagueliner which clubs on motd used to take their fans to the away game.. They had TVs in the carriages and you could watch Football Focus. Other than that they were just ordinary trains.

My first game against Charlton feb. 1973 won 3-0 I think somebody got a hat trick mabe gary jones. :D

My first game was....

Crewe Alex @ Home in the Freight Rover Trophy. I think we won 1-0 and set us on our way to Wembley only to get beat in the Final of Bristol City......I think it was 1985/86 but could be wrong

Remember stood at the bottom of the paddock looking up on to the pitch!! And the fans singing "Mark Came for England" and thinking we had a player that could play for England, if only Robson would pick him :D

Anyone know where I would find the attendance.

First away match was Scarboro away - living in Salford surrounded by Arm Chair Rags it was about this match I started to question if I had made the right choice in supporting the Whites - until my dad gave me a slap for even thinking about changing :D

First ever game was v Liverpool 27th Sept 1967 League cup at Burnden, we won 3-2. I was 6 and sat on me dads shoulders in the Embankment. Smell of the hot dog onions was outstanding!

Next game was Citeh in the 3-0 Gary Jones game 5th Oct 71 again with me dad in the Wing stand. Remember watching 2000 or more Citeh fans unsuccessfully trying to take the Lever then having to make do with the corner under the floodlight at the Burnden terrace end. Lots of bangers being thrown that night!

This was closely followed by 0-6 Chelsea in the same comp on 8th Nov 71 again the the wing stand with older sis. Less said the better.

However I consider my first proper game as a fully fledged Bolton fan was Brentford at home on 28th April 1973, Div 3. Docs and wrangler and with the mates at the back of the Lever! We won 2-0.

First away game wuz Oldham , night game on 4th Feb 75, Div 2. Lost 1-0 but we took the Chaddie and bounced up and down at the back on the springy wooden terrace floor boards! what could a 14 year old apprentice boot boy wish for more in life!

Ah memories!!!
