Yes they are "non league" but there are a lot of good non league clubs that bring communities together and are part of the footballing fabric.  If Chorley were in trouble I'd be a bit gutted even thou

I don't like the idea of football clubs going out of business.

When we were kids we used to go to Pontins in Morecambe with my grandma and grandad. We went for a few days and my mum and day came for last couple .

It was brilliant, we used to get the train there which was pretty exciting on its own.

Two different bets based on Morecambe struggling to field a team. That went well.

When that art deco hotel puts an event on, on a Saturday it’s a belting place to visit. Was there last year when they had a classic car event on. Place was buzzing

Other wise it’s a shithole with a non league football team (or should be)

My dad hated the place with a passion for some reason.

Always insisted on pronouncing it phonetically too.

My Canadian family came over when I was a kid and we took them to Morecambe back when Happy Mount Park was in its pomp, my mum's cousin called it morry-cam-bee and that's what it's been known as ever since.

Is your mum’s cousin my dad?

Poor buggers.  They won't exist by the end of next month.

Serves Santa right but can't help feeling sorry for the rest of them.

Can’t say I’m overly bothered as a non paid up member of the ‘football family’

Same goes for Sheffield Wednesday

We might get a bye in the league cup.

All very Anderson-esque.

Will end up doing a Bury, and coming back from the flames.

Same applies. I don’t hold a bias😂

Fucking shocking.

How many times before the EFL et al get their act together.

No wonder central government is/has legislated.

Shameful.

It's probably not a popular view, but I'm not convinced there's much the EFL can legally do to prevent these types of people owning football clubs

Then they should be open and say so.

They have rules, and should strengthen them accordingly. There are plenty of sports related lawyer types that they must use.

If owners are supposed to put so much money into a protective "bond" or whatever the system is, then increase the time period that that money will cover.

I don't buy it that better protections aren't possible.

Similar to Anderson, once the bedsheets came out he stopped paying the bills.

They can't even open the North Stand for start of season.

Reckon that John Texla will buy em when they go into admin.

My most recent experience of the place had me called a term for somebody who entertains multiple black men. Classy place.
They will find their own level

I think they more or less have made it clear in the past

Ultimately, the rules are voted on by the clubs

Aye Simon Jordan always speaks well on it.

Very scathing about this new regulator bollocks and how FA aren't fit for purpose.

I don't know the ins and outs but nearly every club in the land is living way beyond it's means and losing money

So this will just keep happening

Either what happened to bury or what happened to us

Hence the reasons for the ownership rules. Evidence of funding etc.

So long as an owner/investors is/are happy to chuck money away and not leverage it against the club, it shouldn't be a problem- like in our case.

If however, that isn't deemed acceptable by the authorities, then so be it- but that would have a knock on effect of damaging competition.

Not an easy fix, but not impossible neither.

There’s enough money across football to support every club except the greedy bar stewards in the PL don’t want to share it and would rather pay ridiculous transfer fees and obscene wages. Until the PL is put in its place nothing will change.

Shit flows downhill

In footy money doesn’t. It sits at the top

And the shit drowns those chasing the money upwards

Long gone are the days when clubs “found their natural level”

In a sad way we need multiple clubs to go bust before there’s something done. But it won’t happen. Some chancer will always chase the riches of a league above

Problem is. EFL say have you got the money?

Person says yes, here's a bank statement to prove it

EFL go fine that's ok but im not sure what else they can do

Didn't Reading's problems stem from the Chinese govt restricting the flow off cash out of the country?

Reading fans complaining that he wouldn't sell but owner probably knows all the bids are taking the piss and want them on the cheap so he says no

Which is kind of understandable

The problem comes when a club is running out of time and there is only one person interested do they tell them to fuck off because they do not pass the test or let the club fold ?

Think in Reading's case they kept extending the deadline to avoid the latter
