Members Lt. Aldo Raine
He was an average manager who benefitted from three very generous tournaments draws His biggest achievement was probably so easily qualifying for three consecutive tournaments
Site Supporter RONNIE PHILLIPS Posted July 20 Site Supporter Share Posted July 20 He should have gone 3yrs ago after the Italy game.... He seems to have learned nothing tactically & taking injured players to tournaments & shoehorning players into unfamiliar positions is something we have constantly done for at least 40 years..... And it's never worked.
Underpants
Yes I know fans are different but say what you want about our professional sportsmen but I can't imagine any of our lot singing about a political issue and bringing it to a stage after a sporting victory. The Argies did I'd it in '86 about the Falklands. Spain after the euros did it in Madrid about Gibraltar. In a way it just goes to show that as inconsequential that we may think we are to the rest of the world. A lot of the world do have a massive chip in there shoulder about England. It's a badge of honor as far as I'm concerned. I didn't expect it from Spain but that Latin temperament is hard to put to one side.

Aside from the theory that the country would go berserk if we actually won a big one, I'd be pleased for the players too. They seem an incredibly likeable group. No politics about the runners-up and no racist songs.

Gibraltar is not changing its status anytime soon (if ever). Don't listen to any Brussels bureaucratic tosspots regarding this subject. Besides the fact that 99% of the population want no part of being part of Spain, the US will block any move to remove the control the gateway to the Med from its greatest ally. A crucial strategic asset.
