The Glastonbury Thread

Looks wank

There's a handful of acts I'll try to catch but for me it's not a patch on last year

Haven't even heard of the Sunday night headliner, SZA

Or the act before them, Burna Boy

  • Didn’t think it needed saying, but for the hard of thinking - if you don’t like what you are seeing and/or hearing at Glastonbury, just turn your telly over or go out for a walk. Nobody, and I me

  • If you want to see irony at its finest then I give you Glastonbury 2025. A festival so "free-spirited" it’s surrounded by a 13ft fence, armed security, ID checks, and its own holding pen for bord

To be fair, old cunts or not, it does genuinely look shit this year

Aye, it's not even a discussion about the next generation of music being shit or anything like that

It's just a shit line up compared to previous years

I've always thought that Glastonbury has the worst line up of all the major festivals.

Shania Twain ffs.

Wasn't there a conspiracy theory that Avril Lavigne died so they got someone else in to be Avril Lavigne, or summat like that

Yeah, they reckon she was replaced with a doppelgänger in 2003

I'd love to know the reason why someone would feel the need to, in the even of her passing, go to the effort of pretending she's still alive

Well that happened to a lad from Liverpool a few years ago, they reckon he was better than the one he replaced and went on to do quite well for himself.

I don't even know if they are good or shit, I've just never heard of them.

Maybe I'm an old cunt but it might be the first time I've never heard of a Glastonbury headliner

Being the top band man I am I’ve not heard of any and have been assured by my mates going it’s a pretty wank line up

Eh? There's fucking shed loads of great acts - the Woodsies stage on the Saturday is blinding - one after the other: High Vis, Mannequinn Pussy, Soccer Mommy, Fat Whites, Yard Act, Sleaford Mods - all one after each other, I'd be setting up camp all day there, and also....

LCD Soundsystem

PJ Harvey

Little Simz

Squeeze

The National

Squid

Nitin Sawhney

This is The Kit

Orbital

The Breeders

Baxter Dury

London Grammar

Frank Turner

Bill Bragg

Johnny Flynn

BC Camplight

Bloc Party

One of the best line-ups I've seen in years in terms of stuff I'd personally like to watch.

aye and one of the worst for me personally, there isn't one I'm going to make a point of sitting down and watching live

I might do some catch up on iplayer and have these on in the background:

LCD Soundsystem
PJ Harvey
Paul Heaton
Sugababes
The Vaccines
Coldplay
Gossip
Orbital
Seastick Steve
James
The Zutons

and most of those are purely because i know one or two good songs by them

generally I find myself enthused by some acts and that gets me in the mood and into watching other artists I may have heard of or try ones I've never come across

that's how I found Sparks last year, and Aphex Twins

but this year

totally uninspiring for me

Didn't spot Frank on the poster so it's up to 4 acts I'd watch and knowing my luck Frank would clash with one of the other 3.

I'd make sure I was going for a piss when Yard Act and Sleaford Mods are on

Trust me - watch High Vis onwards on the saturday. That's some line up.

Squeeze will be great - if only to hear Pulling Mussels {from the shell} One of my favourite songs.

Here we go

High Vis

Manequinn Pussy

Soccer Mommy

Then the Fat Whites and then Yard Act - even if their last album wasn't quite as good as their first, then Sleaford Mods - thats a great day out!

Fontaines sounded on top form on Jools last night

Looks shite compared to Awakenings line up.

anyone who has been to Glastonbury….is there a big dance scene there ?

I know, epic set list.

Anybody under 30 who is bothered about Glastonbury is just weird

There is. But it's the same acts who've been playing there for about the past 30 years. Fewer DJ's - more live acts.

I always think they've missed a trick by not offering Daft Punk mega money to play the Pyramid Stage.

Still - at least we get to watch Coldplay again! 🙄

Ha ha ha. Back to mine looks decent. Blackhawks of Panama from Bolton playing there.
