Loan Watch 2024/25

Featured Replies

I thought someone used to post a loan round up after most weekends but doesn't look like we've got a thread going yet this season as far as I can tell. Just scrolling through todays results:-

Dan played 90 minutes in Cambridge's 0-2 loss at home to Lincoln

Morley got 2 assists for Wycombe in their 2-1 win away at Bristol Rovers

Max Conway played 82 minutes in Crewe's 2-1 loss away at Newport. Saw that he got MOTM last week I believe?

  • Probably the same source that told you if he wants to stay at Wycombe he will stay at Wycombe

  • I was surprised we gave him a new 3 year deal, at a time he wasn't playing regularly. When he first arrived I thought of him as attacking midfielder yet it seems Evatt has only ever seen him as a defe

    This one's bit better

I wonder if, now we've reverted to our previous formation, we might look to bring Morley back into the fold in January as cover for Sheehan

We got Matete to cover Sheehan haven't we?

Morley back instead of Arfield looks a no brainer

I don't think they're the same type of player

Think it shows a bit of mismanagement that's he's left and he's gone straight in, getting good ratings and assists.

Hopefully comes back the player he was.

He's a decent enough league one player as he's shown and is showing, but just not good enough for where we're at and where we want to be

He wouldn't have started a single match.

Lots of teams are above us in the league due to our shit start

Somewhat disingenuous there. :)

They would probably still be above us if he'd stayed here.

I think khumbeni is getting a decent amount of minutes at accrington

Was me, wasn't sure anyone was interested, but happy to contribute.

The full list out on loan is:

Dan, Morley and Conway all on season long loans (no idea if there are any recall agreement's)

Khumbeni at Accy to 1/1/25

Hutch at Marine (National League), season long loan,

and Andreucci at Buxton (NLN) until 1/1/25.

They're not having a great season, hopefully he's learning though, and experience of a struggle benefits him in the long run.

Whilst I agree , he needs regular starts to kick on . I think there is definitely a player in there and Id rather have him than Arfield but 20 min cameos and the odd cup game arent going to do him anygood.

According to the other players he is the fastest and best passer at the club but we havent seen it anywhere near enough . With 40 games under his belt I reckon he will be worth his place in our Championship winning team of 25/26 !

It's more that now we've reverted back to a three in midfield, Sheehan returns to the deeper playmaker role and we don't really have like-for-like cover for that role now Morley's gone

Think we may get a offer from Wycombe come January and he will be gone

We need a free agent midfielder in that spare slot.

Squad is really unbalanced with an excess of forwards, and we still have Lolos and CMG to return. Nice options up top but not enough proper midfielders.

Bizarre lack of forward thinking for a manager who seemingly prides himself on it

I’m hoping both young Max Conway and Morley come back better for it after their loans. To be honest I’d have Conway back now, he looked better on the left than either Schon or Williams to me.

I'm 100% certain it was more wanting Morley out of the dressing room the big soft sulky fucker.

What's he been saying/doing?

Being a right old sulk about his game time generally. His family moaning to all and sundry too.

I don't think Evatt has ever really rated him, his call I suppose, he describes him as a good technical player and little else. He may come back or may not, but a full season playing first team football do give us some options as he is under contract.
