Sneaky b@stards

I was looking forward to today to get my first full state pension, it also coincided with my Prison Service pension being paid in, state pension was what they said I would get and Prison Service pension almost £200 down, I rang HMRC and they said 'your tax code has changed because we cannot tax the state pension at source so we take it from other sources ie other pensions, and you are still working' so on my first pension I lose almost a quarter of it because I dared to work all my life, and continue to do so, to pay for scrounging twats up and down the country, thieving cnuts, fucking fuming😠

Thanks mate, have you not got an empty garage I can move into?😊

  • You can take your tax free lump sum at anytime and despite its name you do not have to take it as a lump sum. For the younger viewers pension might seem boring but getting it sorted sooner rather

Thems the rules, unfortunately......

Ultimately it comes down to your total earnings, even after retirement.

Still pay requisite level of tax beyond  thresholds.

When I do finish in June my civil service pension should go back to what it was

Makes sense- you won't be earning a wage then, so overall income will drop.

Just be careful of any assets that you may have. Possibly subject to high tax, as they're not the property of the "working man".

The only asset I have is my house

Be reet then.

So your complaint is that you are being taxed on your earnings ?

If you have a state pension and a private pension assuming you have max state pension you will be paying tax on the private pension forever. The State pension basically uses up your tax allowance.

I draw my Pension down once or twice a year and it gets taxed as a lump sum and I have to a tax reclaim that takes 3 months to arrive.

Not at all, I do not mind paying tax on my earnings, it was a shock to see my Civil Service pension £200 light because I have reached pension age and drawing what I have worked all my life for

Pensions should be tax free until at least the minimum living wage is reached.

Government make the rules for all others to follow. But the taxable State Pension is paid gross with HMRC directing other pension providers to deduct any tax due from the State Pension.

It’s not about fairness or equality. It’s about having broad shoulders or something like that. I’ve lost count of the sound bites. (There are hotels to be paid for)

Maybe they should all stop wasting their money on Werthers Originals and Royal Family crockery out of the Daily Mail supplements?

Where has the link come from that everything goes on 5* hotels for people on boats?

I know where you're coming from... i've been through this... I wanted to carry on working after pension age simply because i still enjoy it and I need to keep abusing the management trainees... Went down to 4 days and with my pension I went into a high tax bracket. I then realised I was working I was working to pay the tax man... now gone to 3 days but I really want to do 4 days... if it doesn't work out I will quit altogether i suppose and become some sort of "black marketeer".

The problem is how successive budgets have pegged the tax thresholds putting more of us into taxation... the rate might be reduced but the earnings threshold hasn't.

I'll suck it up until I retire in June, it isn't worth going on 3 days,
