Ukraine has been training some of these groups in using drones etc.

Really messy if a more Al Queda aligned group starts giving it to the Russians and Iranians. And also has a pop at Israel later.

If The Don sorts the Ukraine situation quickly, the rebels won't last long once Putin turns his sights on to them.

It will be Alawite on the night.

Bit late now.

Syria has fallen, and Bashir has fled.

Great. So we have another dusty fucking hell hole run by extremist Islamists ready to unleash mayhem and likely attack Israel?

Iraq, Libya and now this. On the plus side, I heard their leader saying Syrians should come back. I'll bet they fucking don't!

Trump will sort it all.

No wars when he’s in the chair.

relax

Scary stuff. Assad was a ruthless dictator but like Tito and Gaddafi, was managing to oppress umpteen different factions equally.  Things are going to get way, way worse there before they get better.

Fire the dinghies up lads.

I wonder what will happen to that Russian port in Tartus?

Hang on

aren’t the ones we’ve got here already fleeing Assad?

presumably they will want to go back now and rebuild their homeland.?

The new lot will chuck them off towers for not joining the revolution.

A big old mess.

Be interesting to see if the Putinites are sent in, or Iran's revolutionary guard.

Another "front" will be a headache for him.

We've taken 21,000 since the war started. Not massive really. Seems to be going the other way right now with huge numbers looking to cross the border back home to Syria.

Good luck to them, can't help but feel happy to see tortured human rights activists released from prison. There's hope for a peaceful transition, but also a massive risk that Islamists ruin the place yet again. Israel may live to regret weakening Hezbollah, who were key to fighting Isis in Syria and have a lot of support amongst Christian groups in Lebanon because of this.

One things for sure, Assad was an absolute monster. Could have avoided all of this by allowing elections when the uprising first happened. Good riddance, but no idea if it will create peace and stability.

Israel certainly won't regret twatting Hezbollah.

From their perspective, it would be just another anti-Israel force.

Just one that is an enemy of Russia and Iran.

What it does show though, is that Muslims will continue to battle with other Muslims.

Both Israel and Hezbollah will be worried about how this pans out.

We’d all love to see Hezbollah lose support amongst the Lebanese and pale into insignificance. Can’t see it just yet whilst they continue to defend the Christian communities on the border.

Would also be a positive step for peace if Netanyahu’s mob were ousted by Israel’s citizens. They’re no better than Hezbollah & there’s no chance of any deescalation whilst they hold power.

As for Muslims continuing to battle Muslims… you’ve got Jews fighting Arabs & Christians fighting Christians in two of the other major world conflicts. Not sure the relevance of that comment.

The relevance is clear.

They're always battling someone, and most frequently themselves.

Moving much of their attitudes and interpretation into the 21st century would do the world a massive favour.

They won't of course.

many are progressive, many are not. Not much different to the world over. Muslims in Dubai probably look at our crime riddled towns and cities and say similar nonsense to you.

look at the massive effect the Russia/Ukraine war has had on the world. And I'm yet to hear a Muslim say "one things for sure, those Christians will never stop battling each other".

Yes but a cunt who kept 'undesirables' under just like other cunts Saddam and Gaddafi did until stupid westerners listened to the whining of Amnesty International and others and presented the world with the gift of ISIS.

If I was a ruthless dictator I'd ban the import of Hi Lux Pickups, that'd stop the rag heads cruising around shooting off machine guns and rocket launchers from the back
