I'm not being funny I don't watch any of the interview output from the club these days It might be an age thing because I'm sure I would if it was Rioch, Todd or Alladyce back in the day As in those 5 minute pre or post match clips But a 2 hour plus interview Fuck that

July 3, 2025Jul 3 Character He likes players who get stuck in, he wants a good set of lads, who give it their all, and enjoy playing, who want to play and no d**k heads. Wants to play attacking football, and on the defence he wants to counter press. Talks to each player 1 on 1 before signing to make sure he's the right personality fit. Transfers 1 maybe 2 players in before our first pre season game. Doesn't want to have to drip feed players in over the transfer window but accepts he might have to. He wants wingers. One who can cross, take on a man and shoot, as well as be able to press on the defence and close space. No 35 year old wingers, resellability? Method - He explains that he sets the player positions and profile he wants, which are then found by Dickinson and with the analysts they present him 3 options, with stats, video clips and in person analysis, he picks the one he likes best which Harkin then makes an offer for. 1 player wanted 10k a week Tom Barkhuizen? a 21 year old wanted 6k a week Kelly N'mai? Just a guess Ambition Short - Promotion Medium - Championship stability Long - Everton Manager

Not his team etc, I know, but any decent manager always has to work with the leftovers of the previous incumbent and get the best out of them. I’ve always been a happy clapper on here when it comes to managers, and bloody hell I really hope I’m wrong, but being 1/2 in March to finish in the top six and not even being in the discussion on the final day really isn’t a good sign.

They tend to be the same and mush. However, having watched it, I found it revealing how his approach has been developed from his experiences as a 6 year old onwards throughout his career. Clear how this is shaping our team now. He was open about his own fuck ups, his nerves, his thoughts about Moyes, and his dislike of Jonathon Walters- which is worthy of much praise. Some of his thoughts I wouldn't agree with, but that is the world, and no one would agree with everything a manager does. Unlikely to be here for a prolonged period, but there's nothing wrong with ambition.

It isn't, but he indirectly covered that in the interview. When commenting about his experience as a player, he explained that when a new gaffer arrives mid season, players aren't necessarily comfortable with a sudden change of approach. That very much seemed to be the case. We saw subtle change initially, with some success, but we also saw his feelings expressed publicly; both good and bad. Maybe that rubbed some of them up the wrong way, and he will take that experience and move on. It is very clear though, how certain events have shaped him as a person, which will hopefully give the fans an understanding of how he's going about things, and maybe get them to relax a bit, especially pre season and signings!
July 4, 2025Jul 4 One thing I’m taking from Schumacher; ensuring he’s at a club that he thinks he can get to the Premier League with. He said that wasn’t possible with Plymouth due to funding. Expect investment may have been promised if we get to the Championship.
