It means we play with TuTu once again wide and a midfield two of Dempsey and Morley.

Why can it not be Dempsey and Simons, with Gale on the left?

That'd be sound. Plus Tutu has done nothing wrong either.

Dempsey is worth a place in the side but not as a defensive midfielder because he is a little clumsy and would give away too many free kicks

He'd be further forward than Simons... maybe.

Erhahon and Simons have to start if he insists on only two in midfield.....No place for Dempsey

don't mind so long as it's not Morley who starts

of course it can and that is the way i would go if he keeps the system as it is

Tutu is poor played as a winger. No threat of a goal in him....Gale is now fit. Should not even be a debate

Same back 4

Simons and Erhahon in midfield with Dempsey in front

Gale and ACD are shoe-in’s if fit in my opinion and either side of Burstow

I get the Forss shout, but away from home, I think Dempsey gives us more energy and can slot into a midfield 3 if we’re up against it. Forss does press well though if they play out from the back (like he did v Cardiff). He and Burstow did a great job of stopping their DM getting the ball from the centre backs and forcing the ball into the other centre back. It’s why they had so much possession with fuck all penetration

I quite like Tutu, but Gale gives us more threat. I think he has a much higher chance of scoring that opportunity Tutu missed on Saturday for a start and also takes the load off ACD as our most prominent outlet

I'm slightly more in favour of starting Forss as Dempsey's energy as a sub could be an asset. Otherwise spot on team for me

Weather looks shocking for this one.

Anyone who went the other season and used them, how easy and frequent were the rail bus things that run back to the centre? Against the clock a bit afterwards, me.

Feel sorry for Tutu last season around this time he was our most dangerous player. But then went off the ball. Usually our players improve massively when injured.

Tutu has played 40 league games for us and has one goal and two assists. Fine as cover but he shouldn't be starting for a side looking to win the league.

TBF he’s played most of them as a wing back

He wasn't in the team for his defending and had plenty of opportunity to get forward. The player who led the team in assists last season is a wing back.

He doesn't have the end product to be a viable attacking option. And at 27 he likely never will.

He's fast and can play in a few positions so he has value, but I'd never be starting him ahead of Gayle or even Cissokho.

As did the much maligned Schon, whose 1 goal and 4 assists in 39 appearances wasn’t great, but betters those of Tutu.

Agree with this.

He's a much better playing come off the bench running at tired legs

I genuinely don’t know who this is - I’m assuming Cogley?

It seems assists then doesn’t make you immune from criticism 😂

We always like to find ways to put our players down

Tutu is quite clearly a threat at getting the ball and running at defenders - there's no stats like assists or goals that demonstrate this - but it's there to see

I'd prefer Gale to start

up until a few games ago, I'd have had Tutu over Cissoko

anyway, perfectly fine to have him on the bench and come on up top and running at tired legs

Good summary.

I prefer to look at it through a positive lens too.

You’ve got Tutu who’ll give you the best balance there and he’s quick.

Cissoko’s skill and unpredictability is a threat.

But when fit Gale’s speed and finishing  puts him in prime position.

The other alternative view I’ll offer after reading today’s posts and listening to Schumachers comments, is that Erhahon and Gale’s best chance of being involved Saturday will be from the bench.

It doesn’t sound to me like he’s ready to play them from the start Saturday, I think we’re more likely to see them starting on Tuesday.

So the critics won’t like it but I think we’ll see Morley start again.

Personally I’m ok with this. I think it’ll be a straight swap, Simons for Sheehan - behind Dempsey and Morley.

I'd rather Simons for Morley and jig that '3' about tbh
