Mansfield Town (H)

Could be 4/5 changes for this - Wouldn’t be surprised to see Tutu, Simons, Dempsey, Cissoko and  Burstow start

Sheehan poor? Each to there own, but dont know what else he could have done tonight. He was the heart beat of the team first half, great shot which Dalby should have followed up but great defending as

  • I’ll have to watch again. At first watch it looked to me like the CB who is most culpable is Toal not Johnston, looks like he was out jumped ? That said TSL should be taking full responsibility.

Like I’ve said numerous times, it’s about consistency and we don’t have any. I think Burstow buries that chance despite his lack of a goal.

We need a bit of new blood early in the window and a plan B.

this

It is hard to know what to change, other than a better striker (or right one on for the right chances/service) as not much else was lacking we dominated, passed them to pieces and created chances. I agree with @Cheese on another night it is 4-0, our fortunes have to (need to) start changing soon.

I hadn't looked.

I feared this.

We're a good team with limited incision.

We're running out of days. Need to improve our away form to at least take the pressure off home matches.

You've to be defensively bombproof to Burnley's levels of last season to get away with wasting as many situations, hitting the target so rarely and scoring as few goals as we do. There'll be days/nights like tonight where those late late shows don't materialise. We saw many of them under the previous regime.

We've been stumbling for a few weeks now, players flying early doors having gone off it, the replacement options not showing enough, others SS has decided he's seen enough of.

On another day that game finishes 4-0 to us. Ref was dogshit as usual. Nothing to worry about really, and our home record had to end at some point. But let the meltdowns ensue.

Can't keep blaming refs and not sure how many other days we win that type of low block game 4-0

We're not even halfway through the season.

Yes away form is a different matter, but from that performance i dont really know what to change.

Not blaming the ref. We should've been 2 or 3 up by half time. Terrible result, but there wasn't much wrong with the performance. Shit happens.

Nothing to worry about, are you for effing real? The Ref was dogshit but nowhere near as shit as our so called strikers.

I agree our home record had to end at some point

It just highlights our away form needs to pick up at some point

We've gone from nearly being top two on boxing day to nearly being out the top six tonight

The refs an easy target though, he didn't lose us that game, our inability ability to take our chances did

I'm not happy with it, but I can take losing now and then. You obviously can't. 🤷‍♂️

The thing is, I swear we've been saying this since early 2024 when the wheels came off Evattball

Fine if we're grinding out away victories, but we really haven't done that for 2 years either

Well that stops the incessant focus on our home record. Who knows, could be a good thing.

Shit fan tonight, biggest shocker was from the producers and flicking between camera angles. On another day we score 5+) yeah we need someone to do that, hopefully comes in next month… we go again

Same players  score in this league week in week out with very limited ability  Wooton, Fletcher, Reid

We need a battering ram type forward

Not blaming the ref for the loss. Our poor finishing was responsible for that. But we've played dogshit and won games before, and we'll do it again. Just one of those things. Sometimes you're on the wrong side of a smash-and-grab.

You are a miserable prick. Fuck off to Wigan. You don’t change

The warning signs have been there for months. Ignoring that we have been shite was absolutely stupid and should have been addressed.

Playing Randall because he got booed. He spent the entire match getting marked. He never gets the ball in the number 10 position because he goes hiding because he is utter shite. And he knows it.

This is spot on. To be fair we were shit at their place and they only had 10

I have to say its easy for even poor teams to defend floated crosses when we have only one player anywhere near the goal and no one gambling on a knock down. Even on corners, they scored because they put 3 big players in our 6 yard box to cause confusion, we on the other hand have ours about 12 yards out rarely pressurising their keeper.

Utter bollocks

I see you’re still your level headed, reasonable self then.

In fairness though with the sheer numbers of ins/outs who really expected us to walk the league? I didn’t. Our best shot is play offs and that’s down to how we do in January. We desperately need another option up top to mix it up. I’ll probably get stated again but I think we need two more full backs too. We’re too open at the back and both positions are targeted most games.
