I respect your reasons for attending mate, I’m sure they come from a good place & wanting the best for this country 👍

I will however always question how you can justify attending something organised by the likes of Tommy Robinson & Elon Musk. Alongside some of the other MAGA hat nut jobs & religious extremists invited to speak. I’d be curious to know how you think this movement will actually improve our society?

 I’ve made it very clear why I disagreed with her points. Because they were all based on a massive generalisation from the very start. 

 You watched it enough times to want to share on here. Why can’t you answer a simple question ?

Thats the problem though, that myself & others have mentioned previously. 

Our government & the US sanction Iran & are massively critical of the regime. Nobody is defending it in our political system . Protest & political pressure would achieve very little. Unless people were demanding we invade & overthrow the regime. So why would folk on campuses or elsewhere protest about it ? 

Quite the opposite with Israel’s current extremist government. Political pressure in Europe & the US can put genuine pressure on Israel to work towards a two state solution.

For once you’re right about something when you say it may achieve little, you know what else achieved little? Pro Palestine marches, in-fact they caused more divide throughout the country. But you’re talking about people who were protesting against Israel just hours after Oct 7th, the most backwards thing I have seen, this is the side you support.

Where did I say I support people who protested after the Hamas attack ? It always gets to a certain point in our discussions where you just start making stuff up 😄 It’s very odd. 
 

I’m sure many of the protests are a waste of time. They also rarely do a good job of shining a positive light on themselves. I believe Palestine should be allowed toto exist but I’d never go on a march because they’re full of morons.
 

You don’t know their views on Iran though, & it’s bonkers to think they would protest I’m the same way & apply more pressure on a government already considering military intervention. 
 

I have no idea the impact the pro Palestine protests had. Hard to measure. But I do think wider pressure has resulted in many countries supporting a two state solution. And under a Democratic US gov, we could see them apply even more pressure on Israel.

In the book I refer to our anti-hero describes a one to one conversation he had with a middle aged Iraqi lady when on patrol in Basra.

She told him life was hard under Saddam but as a university graduate, she had work designing road bridges, could put food on the table and her kids went to school. 

Since his removal she had no work, had to wear a hijab, went hungry and her eldest son was about to be recruited by the local armed militia leader.
