I want us to stop conceding preventable goals when we don’t give up too many chances and take more of the multitude of chances we create. But I don’t pretend to know all the answers to sort that out. And let’s be honest, neither does anyone else on here. Everybody on here has been around football for decades, it doesn’t validate us knowing what the answers are to sort out BWFCs promotion to the Championship. It’s a fan forum, your opinion, zogs opinion, my opinion are just hot air - no ones is any more valid than the others, which is I why I find it strange when folk are so adamant that they (think they) know the answers. I’ll pass opinion on what I think should happen if I have a strong opinion on it or if I get asked, so happy to come back on what you asked above. I agree with you on the home leg, as we are, 4-4-2, Johnston in for Conway, Dalby for Burstow - there you go changes 😊 The away leg, I’m not so sure. I wouldn’t be against the extra midfielder, especially if we are protecting a lead. But I think there’s also merit going as we were if we performed well in the 1st leg. Too early yet to say what could/should happen in that away tie. And I definitely don’t think Sheehan should be sacrificed at Wembley, nor should he play at the expense of a winger - my opinion, probably different to yours. But I’m not going to say that’s categorically what should happen, nor should you or zog, when you have an alternative opinion. 😊👍 The two changes re this Saturday is a no brainer though GJ there is far from ideal....I have never said sacrifice Sheehan at Wembly.....Wembley is made for Sheehan and RR Again would i want three in midfield at Bradford yes if we are protecting a lead..... At Wembley not a chance i would want two wingers tearing into the Stevenage Journeymen..... Or the Stockport patched up defence. I think we may go long and direct at Bradford just like the other week...crap pitch, direct just not a game for Sheehan Edited May 5May 5 by masi 51

Dropping Sheehan on a bad pitch won't make us any better. Plus for what it's worth, that pitch at Bradford is far from being a cow field. Yeah, there's a couple of bare patches near the byline in front of the Dallas Stand, but it's nowhere near as bad as some of the pitches we've played on.

SS thought it bad enough after the Vale game to go direct.....Sheehan had a very quite game. Sheehan is one of our better players but at times its Horses for courses......If it was Port Vale in the play-offs would you play him if we was protecting a one goal lead? Still think we can do this and if we can get a bit tighter at the back we will walk it. sooner have Bradford in the semi to prevent them taking 40000 to Wembley Where I’m at with Bradford. Didn’t want them at Wembley so this is nearly the next best thing. All 4 teams are hit or miss and have been bang average at times. On the day will win this.

Yes, some of the loanees have done well, but they're not ours. This is the bottom line. I'd love it if Bradford or Stockport rested their best midfielder against us because they wanted to be more "solid" - then proceeded to cough up possession to us more regularly, as Luton did. Its not even close IMO.
May 5May 5 2 hours ago, masi 51 said: Josh Sheehan plays well at home.....Not on cowfields The same goes for most of our players, EE included. Everyone from 1 to 11 had a mare at Port Vale and the team was changed to accommodate the non ball players. I thought Bradford's pitch was fine, we've played on a lot worse. I've just had a quick look at the highlights in case I was imagining it, and the pitch just isn't a factor. The dribblers and passers could play their normal game. Far better that we are playing at that ground than Stevenage or Stockport IMO where it looks more cramped.
May 5May 5 Just another thing on going there "protecting a lead". What happens if they equalise in the first 10 minutes? 3 subs and change of formation? Its not happening.

A lot of iffs We are at home Saturday lets see where we are at at 10pm Sat

A lot of iffs We are at home Saturday lets see where we are at at 10pm Sat We'd try to do what we've done in all the other games we've been behind in, and equalise. Course it might not work, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. As @desperado says, its all opinions and none are more valid than others, mine is just that our normal game would only change if its a shit or bust situation where one team is 3 up or 3 down, where its obvious one goal by the team 3 up finishes the tie. If as expected there's 1 goal in it, SS will just play his normal game IMO which is to be on the front foot, to get at least a draw, same as any other away game. If we want to question tactics for away games fair enough, I'm just suggesting that SS won't change his beliefs as to his preferred method of getting a result (win or draw). I agree, see where we're at after the 1st leg, we've gone early on this 😀

Last three appearances... Wycombe (h) - Taken off after 64 minutes (score 0-2) Rotherham (a) - Taken off after 45 minutes (score 0-2) Port Vale (a) - Taken off after 61 minutes (score 0-1) We've kept three clean sheets with him in the side - Wimbledon, Northampton at home (shit result, hooked after an hour) and Mansfield away (vs ten men). Doesn't scream defensive solidity and can't do half of what RR does going forward.

Without going back analysing, I can’t remember exactly when, but he did have a good spell where he seemed (just with my naked eye - not looked at results) to be a really controlling and calming Influence in the middle of the park. He was breaking play up well and bringing our attacking players into the game quickly (not too much sideways and backwards from him) If we see that player then he still might bring something to the party. But if it’s that other fella you’re describing, he can fuck off 😂 Edited May 5May 5 by desperado
May 5May 5 Popular Post One thing you wanna do away from home is to kill the other sides momentum. Key bit of doing that is keeping hold of the ball. No one does that better than Sheehan. by all means put in Simon’s and/or Erhahon at the side of him, but taking him out and your inviting wave after wave of pressure
