The pension question has been discussed many times on here. Going forward, it’s obvious to me it should be ‘means tested’ those with a ‘fucking big pension pot’ should get nothing from the tax payer. Those further down the social economic spectrum should get payments relative to their contribution to society.

We could however, have a pension system similar to the rest of Europe. It isn’t difficult.🤷‍♂️

Means testing pensioners didn’t go down when Starmer tried it with the winter fuel allowance.

The paradox with means testing pensions is that those who contributed most (via higher income / NI tax payments) would be the ones who would get least. The ones who couldn’t afford to “pay in” much would be rewarded with bigger pensions. So your suggestion of basing it on contributions would seem fairer - but those with least would suffer.

I’ve paid in. Or summat

And I think you’ll find I said ‘fucking massive’

Ta very much

I’m bored of writing it time and time again. There is a painful misconception that people have “paid in” to the public purse, so deserve to take it out when they retire. What you’ve paid to HMRC is irrelevant. They’re not holding it on trust for you.

You “paid in” to cover your parents’ and grandparents’ pensions. Your kids and grandkids will pay your state pension (if there is one). Hopefully some migrants too, because we need more migrants to come over and work to pay the ever increasing pension bill.

My approach has been to pay whatever I can afford into my private pension. That’s the way i’ll get back what I’ve paid in.

I agree 100%, it is hte illegal migrants that cause the furore

So, we should give them another wage on top of their ridiculously triple-lock protected pension?

Sounds good to me.

Working and paying tax and N.I. for 50 years

Are you Cheese in disguise, never watch daytime telly, and I have never watched GB news, too busy on my hobbies, most pensioners shop through the day to make way for workers in the evenings/weekends

You'll be old one day

It's a good indicator of why we are fucked. We were taught to respect our elders and that was a policy which paid off. They were willing to teach me so much in return.

The gradual decline/descent into the abyss we are seeing is interwoven with this overall attitude of lack of respect for most things - the law, other peoples property, pride in personal appearance etc.

As the ever increasing population wends its merry way, there is only one way this is all heading. All of us on here will be well gone but dog eat dog, every man for himself anarchy will ensue prior to inevitable oblivion. Mother Nature reclaiming her minerals.

There won’t be a pension when ‘they’ get old. Not sure why though.

Let's be fair though, many of that 'they' felt that engaging in suicidal empathy was more important.

it might not be GB news, but you aren't half being fed some shit, pal

There’s around 5000 illegals currently receiving section 4 support which is somewhere to stay and £49 a week.

These are people who have applied for asylum or have appealed against a refusal to stay.
Section 4 support has pretty tight guidelines on who can claim it.

as in 'not illegal'

this myth pedalled by farridge and his nasty mates that crossing the channel makes somebody illegal needs calling out

today, tomorrow and every fucking day

labour need to grow some balls, set up off shore places to apply for asylum and then, only then, we can accurately call those crossing the channel 'illegals'

An illegal immigrant is a person who lives or works in a country without the legal right or official permission to be there. This status usually applies when someone breaks national rules to enter a place or stays after their legal documents or visas expire. [1, 2, 3]

look, when somebody is in the water, they are not an illegal

this is my point

if they then don't apply for asylum, by all means, call them illegals

Or Calais

Not quite. Their appeals have failed and they have absolute no right to be here. So basically we are paying for people who we know can’t stay and have no rights to stay. Yet still they get money and accom.
